Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wet snow removal and engine noise is a concern I bought this 3X 26" HD with the 420 CC snowblower in December of 2016 based on product reviews from Consumer Reports January 2016 edition. The blower has plugged up 4 times since using it mostly in wet snow and snowball making snow conditions, all of which required digging the snow from the tunnel part of the blower. The snow was at the most 6" (15cms) deep. Also the motor is quite loud(louder than my old 2008 Ariens 9 HP engine and judging from the amount of metal filings in my first old change at less than 5 hrs the engine longevity is a concern to me, we'll see as time goes on. I'm using synthetic oil in the blower now which should provide better lubrication to the motor. Consumer Reports based part of their favourable report on using sawdust to test the blowers. Obviously this medium is not the same as these real snow conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome, but.... I bought this machine two years ago. When it works, it's awesome. Let me explain. I live in the Laurentians, in Quebec. Over the past two winters, we have received an average amount of snow for our region. Twice now, the auger belt has fallen off. The first time, I brought it back to the dealer, as it was brand new, and I didn't want to attempt to put it back on myself. The second time, well it happened the following year when I was blowing heavy, wet snow. Now in all fairness, the snow was wet and heavy, and I broke a couple of shearpins. But, still. the auger belt came off. I don't find this normal in a $1800 machine. Is the 420 CC engine too strong ? I'm going out to check it now to see if I can do the work myself. The manual shows this to be a relatively easy thing to do. The dealer charged me about $70, but I also had to pay a friend with a truck to bring it to them for the repair. So, while I'm very happy with the features, the way it works, I'm still up in the air as to reliability. I'll let you know if I can fix this myself.
