Coolest guy on the block
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off this is a substantial upgrade from my other mower that comparing the two would not be fair but nevertheless this machine gets it done. It’s fun to operate and once you learn how to feather the throttle on turns you will cut your lawn a second time just for fun. My lawn was pretty high for my standards and the fast blade speed with the mulch plug in the side there was no grass left on top of the lawn. If you mulch, which everyone should in my opinion do so when the grass is dry. Other than that it’s a great mower for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleased with the mower, I live on a sloped property, the only operating feature i don't like is that the mower free wheels when going downhill with or without the drive lever engaged.

Decent Mower, does what needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to be a good machine, Starts easy, cuts well, controls are easy to handle, Good alternative for a yard that needs a bigger cut but a rider won't work. Used it to cut neighbors high grass, did a good job. It's gear driven, not a hydro, adjust accordingly. 1st gear is slow, but, used it to get accustomed to machine, 2nd gear does pretty well for an older fat guy :) . It has a little mass and you need to get accustomed to a larger machine if used to a smaller push mower, but it is easy to get used to

OMG! POWER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just brought this home from dealer and WOW the power to mow through my 3 foot high grass in an area of the pasture the Tractor Mower won't fit. Very easy to shift gears, easy start, and stops when you open your hand. SO POWERFUL I had to keep it on the slowest setting in order to get used to it and to go around turns. A strong man might get it to do hills, and I am not saying I won't ever (with practice) but today I could not do a pretty steep hill.

Not a Troy Bilt!
First off, this is not a bad mower. Unfortunately, there are not many options in a residential wide cut mower. Like most products sold today, they are not built with the operator in mind first, today it's about making a cheaper unit by cutting corners. My old Troy bilt had more refined controls for the blade and speed. You can't feather the speed in sensitive areas of your lawn, it's either full speed or nothing. Pops wheelies constantly. The gear shifter is as horrible as it gets.

I want to love it.
I want to love it but cub cadet makes it impossible. Their support is absolutely one of the worst. My clutch cable broke. This is only two years old. I bought a new one from them and they don't send any instructions on how to put it on. This should be a 10-minute job. three days of attempting to get to support to answer where does this spring attach is ridiculous. Do yourself a favor find a company that wants your buisness and is there when you need them. this company is not it

Mower
I had the mower for two years now. With in the first 25 hours the drive cable snapped. No big deal, simple fix. I have to always sharpen my blades. I cut my grass every week and always have to double cut it because it keeps clumps. I use high lift blades too.
The machine is very user friendly and easy to use. The downside is that the cut quality is just not there. It’s very similar to my 21 inch honda.

Tbe Perfect self propelled mower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very powerful, plowed though 14" high grass with the deck in a low postion without hesitation. Awesome hill climber, I have a 15 degree hill that normal mowers could not climb. This mower made child's play of that hill.
Don't have a bag for it yet, with everything on back order but I'm sure that will be as well made.

CC 800 positive review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would say that a walk behind of the CC 800 easily rivals a riding lawn mower with a comparable amount of engine power. I like to walk rather than ride and it gives me some exercise that is reasonable for a yard like mine of about 3/4 of an acre. You’ll likely have to take a break or two in extreme heat and humidity.

This mower works great. Easy to operate. More like a goat the way it chews through tall grass. I bought it for hill sides that my Cub Cadet rider won’t climb.

Powerful yet useless.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this mower for three years, 24 hrs on it and it has been in the repair shop three times. The deck is very fragile and gets out of alignment very easy. Blades hit the deck and the drive belt brakes. $275 for repairs and within an hour it does it again.

Sped up my mow time!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have cut my mowing time by at least 1/3 which is great. As an engineer by background I would offer the following ideas or critiques. Fully variable speed vs 4 levels would be an improvement. Level 4 is brisk and beneficial to speed of operation. Big drop off though from 4 to 3. 3 should be a faster than it is. Engagement of the drive lever (and blade lever for that matter) needs to be easier to actuate than the design provided. In level 4 you really have to carefully slowly engage the lever to not have the mover "pop a wheelie". Mower arrived without a cotter pin holding up the deck which I didn't realize. I used it for several cuts until it vibrated off and the deck dropped to the ground. Had replacement pin sent though it took several weeks. Bare in mind this is a significant machine to get used to handling though in another respect fun to operate. I wouldn't recommend to people of lesser strength/fortitude.

New Owner, but not new to Cub Cadet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now just 4 hours on my new CC 800. Everything seems to be great! I have a very steep portion of my yard that was really getting hard to handle with my Timemaster 30". The CC800 has power to spear climbing the hills and maneuvers really well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this mower but it takes a little bit to get used to. I’ve used it 3 times on my yard. I wish that I could keep the grass chute up but the mulch plug will fall out. I think that’s my only gripe otherwise I would give 5⭐️s.

Absolutely fantastic machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One incredible machine. I have some very very steep hills to mow and this mower doesn't even flinch. I'm pretty sure if I was tied to it, it'd pull me too! I like the fact that I can mow up, down, or side to side on the hillside. An added bonus is that it "catches" itself going downhill, especially in 1st gear, so the mow speed is the same uphill as it is down. And if things get dicey, just let go of the transmission handle and the mower stops moving; even on the hill, it just stops where it's at and waits for you to catch up and start driving again. Absolutely love this thing.
Despite its weight, it is extremely maneuverable and requires very little effort to turn. Have only used a couple of times so far, but gas usage is about what I'd expect for a mower of this caliber; not too much, but doesn't sip fuel either. I've had several mowers in an attempt to make it easier to mow my property, but this one is the best and last one I'll purchase. Does everything I was looking for and just wish I had bought it earlier!!

Love my machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband bought me this mower 3 years ago. I LOVE doing yard work, and I do our pasture work by push mowing, not riding. We have roughly 15-20 acres in the family that I take care of. After reading reviews at the time, I wanted to wait to post my review til I KNEW for sure what this mower could do since for us it was a major purchase/and HUGE upgrade from the normal 21" cut of a small lawn mower. I believe there is a little over 400 hours on the meter now.
I am 5'3" tall and at first it was a lot of getting used to having the plow type handles, and this being so much heavier than the little 19-21 inch push mower. Once I learned how to work WITH the mower, we became unstoppable. This mower has ate up all kinds of ground and has went through anything I have put it through out in the pastures and opening up some new areas from the thick underbrush. It has been a long running joke in the family that my tiny push mowers were not brush hogs as I like to use them. Well, my new, now not so tiny walk behind mower eats everything up!!! This machine is not listed/advertised as a brush hog but it sure acts like one. We handle everything with ease now, including any steep hills. I simply let my machine pull me up the hill.
We have 5 separate pastures ranging in size from 1 acre to 5 acres. This machine takes care of them all. The horses eat the grasses and I come in behind them and clean up what they don't eat. I am now able to get ALL the pastures ready at the end of Winter, BEFORE the rotational grazing begins in the Spring. Then we have the non pastured sections, and this machine can give the look of a finishing mower.
Like I said, once I learned how to work WITH the machine, we go through everything super easy and quick. The pastures are just a quick knock down of what the horses have not ate before it's time to move them to new pasture, I don't necessarily care what the mow looks like as in those areas I mow for grazing not looks. But this machine also does a really neat and clean look on my yard area also. I always have it set on the highest mow no matter where I am.
I can easily load this mower in the bed of the truck with the use of ramps. Put it in 1st gear, leave the throttle on low speed, and it just walks its self right on up there. Same with unloading it.
There it is folks, from a 5'3", 51 yr old woman. I LOVE MY MACHINE. Work with the mower and not against it and you will love it also.
