Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Lawn Tractor!! We purchased this unit to mow over two acres of land. I performs flawlessly, lots of power and easy to use. It mowed right through dense thick grass with ease.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems from day 1 I bought my tractor this summer after deciding to upgrade my 12 year old Craftsman....I am truly regretting that decision at this point and time!! I returned the first one to the store due to it running rough, loud and periodically sputtering even in short grass every 3-4 minutes. Got a second one from the store, same issues plus it came assembled with the wrong engine hood...maybe that should have been a clue to stay away but I gave it a try and it too runs terribly. Store has been excellent to deal with but there is clearly a flaw in the fuel injection or the engine somewhere! When I did get chance to speak to the Cub Cadet rep at the store, he claimed there are no issues that he is aware of and that they have had no similar complaints. The store even got me to try a different set of spark plugs but that did not solve the problem. The store mechanic recently took my tractor for a few days and returned it saying he thinks it will always run rough like that and that there is a flaw somewhere but nothing he could figure out since it's fuel injected and there are no codes coming up. Unfortunately for me now I am stuck with a nearly new tractor with less than 27 hours on it which runs like it's 20 years old! Cub Cadet please help me out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plesantly Surprised I have been using a diesel tractor and a front end loader to clear snow on my driveway which is way over kill for my modest 40 by 130 foot driveway and wanted something smaller but would still do the job when we have deep snow. Numerous people including dealers of other brands of small yard tractors cautioned me against using a lawn tractor and snow blower combination and they all said I would be extremely disappointed with the performance of any machine. I looked at a few different brands and came to the conclusion that Cub Cadet seemed to be the biggest bang for the buck in the size I was looking at. I went with the XT2 SLX50 with the stamped deck. Most people say pay a little extra and get the fabricated deck, but I will most likely not even use the deck at all as I like to use a large walk behind mower for the exercise in the summer. I had my dealer equip the unit with the 3 stage 42" Cub Cadet snow blower attachment in the fall and we did not get any snow until late December so I could not even try it out. Seeing as though I would most likely be only using the unit in the winter I decided that a unit with fuel injection would also be the best option. We have now had 2 decent snowfalls of at least 6 inches each and one of them had windy conditions that created substantial snow drifts. Both snowfalls were quite heavy as the temperatures were right around the freezing mark. Let me tell you... I am pleasantly surprised at the performance of this combination. First of all the tractor starts right up and purrs like a kitten. When you throttle it up it really sounds throaty and as soon as you engage the PTO drive it doesn't stutter much at all. I started in snow that was about 10 inches deep and it threw it at least 40 feet and it seemed like it didn't even feel it. When I came to a substantially deeper section of wet heavy snow I slowed down a little, but blew through it like butter. With only 2 moderate snowfalls behind us It may be a bit premature to say I love this machine, but my first impressions are that this combination is exactly what I need and I will be putting my larger tractor and loader up for sale to make more room in the shed. Money well spent in my opinion!
