Yet to test it but blades look great
Installed this adapter kit and new blades yesterday - the installation of the plug was frustrating. Reading the other comments here helped me see why it wouldn't fit - the little tap near the metal rod; appears like it goes over the mower tray but it actually slots in underneath it. Once you slide it underneath, the plug fits and you can get the mounting hole to reach the bolt to secure it. Took longer that it should've because the instructions don't make this clear - even using their online video, but it does actually fit. The blades look great, cant wait to try them soon! Blades are easy to install, just lift up the front of the mower with a jack stand to reach the blades, no need to remove entire deck tray.

Xtreme mulching kit for xt2
Ordered the Xtreme mulching kit for the xt2 and am disappointed that they still have not fixed the problem everyone has complained about already in the past. While the plug is a very tight fit it still allows grass to come out at various areas around the plug and causing a clump on the inside that the blades will hit and make noise and then the top of the mower deck when done is totally covered in grass clippings. If I didn’t already install the blades I would probably return. My advise is try the plug first before you go though all the trouble of installing the blades and if you have the same issue then they still have not corrected the problem. I guess they don’t read customer reviews and fix the long known problems.

Works but didn't fit,
Attachment works great, but it did not fit my mower as received. With the front rod in the proper hole and the cover properly in the groove in the deck, the back hole was about 1" away from the stud bolt in the deck. No way it would ever fit. But being the clever fellow I am, I drilled a new hole in the deck and relocated the stud bolt. It now fits like it should. You need to check this out as the next customer bight not be a clever as I am.

42" Fabricated Deck Mulching Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blades are good and do the job. The deck cover is poorly designed and doesn't fit properly. I had to shave off some of the plastic and use duct tape to seal it up the best I could. I am not an industrial designer nor engineer, but I know that I could have designed a better deck cover. It always surprises me when manufacturers cut corners or just don't put in the effort to design things properly. I take pride in my work and so should corporations that sell their products in the marketplace.

Mulching Kit for 42-inch does NOT fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The "plug" does not fit properly. It has only two attachment points, a curved rod at the front and a hole for a deck mounted bolt on the back. The plug appears to fit best when the hole in the back is positioned correctly, but the curved rod does not come even close to fitting into its receiving slot.
When trying to use the curved rod first, the plug does not conform as well to the deck, and the hole at the back end is about 1" short of reaching the deck-mounted bolt.

Better than expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed the blades and plug in about 45 minutes. The plug fits fine when installed correctly with no leakage. The blades completely grind up large piles of leaves in a single pass. Would purchase again without hesitation.

Mulch plug doesn't fit
I won't write a long review but just like many, many others...bought the kit, removed the deck, removed the old blades, installed the new blades, reattached the deck, went to put on the plug as part of the last step and it doesn't fit at all. There 3-4 points where the plug is supposed to fit tight along the deck but don't. The debris chute won't set all the way down either and there are several hole/gaps where debris still flies out. Same problems others have posted here. BLADES ARE FINE though.

42” Fabricated Deck Mulching Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mulching blades are awesome! They cut clean, and mulch very well.
The cover that replaces the chute however, does not fit. There is a gap of at least 1/4” up to 3/4” wide for a 5” length along the top. So much grass is projected through the gap that it requires stopping and using a leaf blower to clear the deck to clear around the belt pulleys. The cover does not fit! Myself and entire mower COVERED in clippings on a 1/3acre yard.

Doesn’t fit fabricated deck
Like others have said, it leaves a 1/4” gap on the fabricated deck and the grass shoots up your leg. Very disappointed. This was my first cub cadet and I paid a pretty penny. Never again!

I was hoping the mulch kit would work better than the stock blades. They seem to produce finer clippings but my mower still leaves trails and clumps of grass especially while turning.

Better lawns and mowing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tired of throwing grass from the discharge shute so I decided to get the mulching kit for my ZRTS42. Installation was simple following the instructions. Just don’t like undoing and reinstalling the drive belt! The mower seems quieter without the discharge shute ( less blade noise)! It mulches the grass to very fine pieces that disappear in the lawn. Wet grass will result in clumps dropping by the way. Cuts very nice and my lawn looks better than it has in a long time. Piece of advice, stay off the driveway because it likes to drop a lot of grass clippings on the drive instead of the lawn. Otherwise, very pleased with the mulching kit. My advise, install the deck/ blade wash kit as it does collect a lot of clippings under the deck. Better lawns ahead!

Modifications needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, read the reviews. Despite my better judgements, I purchased anyway, thinking they maybe bought wrong kit. I quadruple checked that this was supposed to fit. Needed to put the retaining bar in vice to bend correctly. There is a gap between plastic cover and deck, letting grass blow all over you. I'll be finding some plastic or vinyl to rivet onto cover to fix that. Other than that it mowed great with new blades.

Great Mulching Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the mulching kit shortly after purchasing my ZTS1 42 mower. The original side discharge chute limited my ability to mow close to obstacles on the right side. Now with kit installed I can mow my odd shaped yard more efficiently. The mulching kit was easy to install. The instructions called to remove the deck, but that seemed overly complicated. I simply raised the deck to max height, jacked up the front wheels and placed them on my portable car ramps. This allowed me to quickly and safely remove the standard blades and install the mulching blades. The side discharge chute was easy to remove and the new cover slipped into place. I’m happy with this kit and recommend it. As an added benefit, there are no “rows” of grass clippings left behind like with the side chute. Thanks!

Mulch Kit
There are a lot of bad reviews about the mulch kit. The plug in particular. It does not seal very well at all. You will get blasted by grass - unless - you keep the original discharge chute installed. The instructions don't tell you this. But I found a video on youtube by another customer. I tried it, it works. No more grass spraying all over me. You should update your install instructions. Otherwise, I would have removed the plug and sent it back.

Mulch kit 19A30054100 for the Ultima z2 42 inch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the mower a week ago. Ordered the mulch kit 19A30054100 for the mower went to install and the plug is incorrect. Haven't put the blades on yet as I read reviews and saw issue with the plug adapter. So started with that part. Before I drill holes in the plastic plug to make it fit, wanted to check to see if there was another fix before I make the part not returnable.

Great Item
Firstly, the delivery time was crazy fast. Ordered it on a Monday afternoon, item was at my door the next morning. Installation was easy and fast. Used a blade lock to lock the blades and removed them with my impact gun. New ones went on fast and easily. The supplied panel seals the side chute completely. The mulching blades shredded the first of the seasons leaves and left very little evidence on the lawn. Great item.

Mulch kit works well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good so far. 4 cuts in with the product. Seems to do what it is supposed to pretty well. Easy install… hardest part is getting the blades off which isn’t too bad with an impact gun. Reduced to amount of grass flying out which is what I wanted. Doesn’t leave clumps. But have not cut really tall grass yet.

Xtreme Mulching Kit Could Be Better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Xtreme Mulching Kit cuts grass good, but the mower is hard to clean afterwards as grass is thrown over everywhere. Ended up removing the mulching kit and went back to normal mowing. If you cut you grass twice a week or so you probably won't have a problem (less grass buildup). Unit easy to install.

Good, but deflector doesn’t stay as ured
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a decent kit with a good blade. The directions are hard to read. The chute cover tends to bow outward. I drilled some holes in it and attached it firmly using zip ties. It would be better if the deflector had a better way to attach or if it was metal so it didn’t bow so much during operation.

Does Not Fit
Mulch Kit ordered for a riding mower. After I input all the information they said this part would fit and even showed an exact picture of my tractor. The kit came and the mulch plug did not fit, not even close no matter what I did. Such a hassle to send it back when it should have been right the first time. Will never use this website again!

Yard is looking better!

It was easy to replace the blades using car ramps and installed in less than 30 min once I had the correct size socket (I had to purchase prior to starting).

Great fit and does the job it should
Bought mine last year after I noticed I was shooting clippings into the flower beds at home. I like it a lot . Looking to pick up a spare pair of blades so I won't be down while one set is off being sharpened. Unlike the picture someone else posted, my molded cover fits over the fab deck, there is no space.

Good blades, Bad side discharge cover
The blades work as expected, however I was disappointed when the black plastic cover for the side discharge did not completely cover the opening. It was challenging get it on and at the end it left a gap which the grass clippings get clonked at, I used duct take to cover the gap and seal the difference.

WORKS GREAT!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mulch kit was easy to install, and they work perfectly for my 42” XT2. As others have said, make sure you fit the flap on the inside of the frame. It’s a tight fit, and took a couple of tries to get it in, but I’ve had no issues with the kit.

I bought the kit today blade installation was easy. The mulch plug does not fit. I see there are many reviews that say the same thing. When are you going to make a plug that fits properly. Also if you remove the deflector Shute there are 3 holes in the deck that need to be covered. Not happy

Quality of product - Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I had a difficult time getting the plug in line and installed, it was worth it. I bought my Cub Cadet in November and have been using the bagger. The mulching blades seem to give me a much better, more even cut. Highly recommend.

Bad Design of Mulching Cover
This doesn't fit and will have to modify it. Poorly designed and shouldn't be that tough to put on.Put it on as directed and won't fit into tab on the side. The very front goes under the front deck.Also 2 gaps I will have to plug with duck tape so grass doesn't shoot up while mowing.
