Fits 2025 ZT1 42 FAB Mulching Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This plug fits my 2025 ZT1 42 FAB perfectly. The problem with this kit is when you remove the chute, there's 2 square holes left open in the deck. Cub Cadet provides no hardware for this. Debris can come through the holes and possibly hit you. Slim chance but possible. I purchased some 1/2" square plastic plugs that snapped in real tight. Problem solved. The blades are heavily coated with yellow paint which makes the blades appear dull. They're not. With the coating on them they are as sharp as a newly sharpened blade that was used once. So good enough. I'm happy with the kit and would recommend it.

Fits ZTS1 42 inch fabricated deck
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was concerned due the poor reviews on figment of plug. But after checking several other posts and realizing the tab near the pin goes under the deck, this deems to fit well. The instructions aren’t real clear but that part goes under deck and bottom goes inside lip of deck. The shape is not exactly as pictured but works.
Really only option for this deck - short of DIY chute blocker. Time will tell on the mulching blades. Hopefully before long other after market blades will be available for the s pattern.

Wrong plug for my Cub Cadet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just tried to install the kit to my brand new tractor last night. The last thing I had to install was the plug, and it didn't fit. The hole for the front of the bracket was in the fender, and there was no way that twisty rod would fit in that hole. What do I do now, can't cut the grass because there is no plug in there. Very disappointing.

Gets the Job Done but Needs Refining
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this for my Z2 42 Ultima, and the discharge chute plug took some work to get it on because it doesn't quite fit my fabricated deck even it is meant for those decks. Cub Cadet needs to redesign the plug immediately to ensure it meets the quality it strives for. The blades are great, easy to install, and I've haze zero issues with cutting and mulching grass and leaves. I will say, there is no other option out there, so if you need a mulching kit for your Cub Cadet with a fabricated deck, this is all you have to work with. Happy Mowing!
