[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last cub I had for 18 years and it was built TOUGH. Some features I really wish have stayed are gone, like the grab handles on the fenders. For the safety features mowers seem to require, why are these gone? And also the warning light for things like oil pressure. All there is now of just the hour meter. Jury is still out on the fast attach blades since it’s new, have to see how that collar is to clean to raise to remove them.

First and last Cub
I bought this last May and within 3 months I had to take it back because the throttle cable bent inside the housing. It took a few weeks for the part to come but was replaced under warranty. This spring at the beginning of mowing season, the new throttle cable bent also. This year it took over 2 months for the part to come in. After dropping it off at the dealer, they then lost the part. I also let them know that the mower constantly surges like it’s running out of gas unless it’s under a heavy load. The service manager didn’t write anything down except “throttle cable” and then proceeded to tell me I just need to clean the carb out. I reminded him this is the electronic fuel injection model so there is no carb to clean. He let me know that’s “above his skill set to fix.” However the sales guy told me last year it would be no problem to work on. I’ve gone through two seasons now with a brand new working mower for only 4 months. If you try to reach cub cadet service line, you wait on the line only never to be able to speak with a human. If you send your info through messenger, they give you the same number for the automated answering service with a case number to reference. And still can’t speak with a real person. This was my first Cub purchase and will undoubtedly be my last purchase.

Excellent upgrade for me!
Purchased last fall with the 3stage snowblower attachment, anticipating snow. Spring performance is awesome: steering is one-finger easy. Tires have plenty of traction and the front ones don't gouge into the ground when making turns. Turning radius is excellent. It has a manual choke instead of the automatic. Oil changes are going to be super easy and clean. Totally impressed with the fabricated 50" deck and how easy it is to install.

Fast Attach Blade System
What a piece of cheap junk. The Fast Attach blades are pathetically noisy when they engage or going over the slightest bump in my yard. They sound like they're coming right off the "spindle" or whatever's under there that now costs Cub Cadet less to manufacture than a real spindle. Constant banging and noise from under the machine. I hate it and will take a loss to get rid of this machine that has under 5 hours on it.

So far, ok.
I have used my xt2 50 inch cut tractor only a couple of times. Uses a lot of gas. About 3 gallons for my under 2 acre plot. Has no reserve fuel feature. More vibration than my old tractor with blade engaged. Cruise control very iffy. Cannot set to speed I want. It's either too fast or too slow. Overall I'll give it a 4. Hopefully it gets better for the money I paid.

Bccominga a disappointment
This mower was exactly one year old. It ran fine until I engaged the mower deck. Then it died. Got it to the dealer and the fuel solenoid needed replaced. I have another Cub XT2 46" mower which is 5 years old and the transmission is bad. We had an old Cub mower that ran for 20 years and never had a problem. I am disappointed in the reliability of the newer Cub mowers. Don't think I will every but another one.

The XT2 SLX50 is a beast!
I have 5+ acres and have used Craftsman in the past and when it came time to replace my last one, I decided to purchase the Cub Cadet. I AM GLAD I DID! This tractor is a beast! It ate up this grass like a heard of cows! I was very surprised at the features and the turn ratio....I am very impressed with it. I am actually looking forward to the next cut!

SLX50 -XT2 ENDURO SERIES
Well got this wonderful unit from a local dealer and they never told me it came with a blade throwing feature like whos brilliant idea was it to mount the blades with 4 little pins 2 are aluminum and a horribly weak spring if it hits anything it tosses the blade across the county and then before you notice its gone the belt chews threw the spindle cover. Well then ask your dealer if theres normal spindles and blades cause there blade tossing system is going to kill some one and they want $500 to replace them did I mention this machine has 66 hours and is still under warranty. Be sure if you buy one of these vibrating heaps you make sure they change blades and spindle and get rid of the fast attach blades cause they unattached them selves twice as fast then you spend an hour trying to find it. Luckily its only sent 1or 2 blade off it about 6 or 7 times and never killed anyone or destroyed and valuable property like a car or big window. Do i recommend this product not a change with the blade system and super excessive vibration it makes
