An Excellent Zero Turn Mower
Stark Street Lawn and Garden, Portland, Oregon delivered our ZTXS6 60 mower today, and we were impressed with the thoughtfulness of design, high-quality materials, and careful assembly, as well as the power of the 25.5HP Kawasaki engine, which started right up. We ran the machine without mowing grass for about 20 minutes to become familiar with proper operations as described in the manual. When we mowed for the first time, we found that operations were intuitive and greatly facilitated by conveniently located informational stickers near foot pedals, the emergency brake, the control panel, and other functional parts. Power, speed control, and maneuverability were excellent as we mowed around sprinkler heads, yard lights, rocks, and along garden beds, water features, and over open areas. A most pleasant surprise was the comfort provided by the cushy, adjustable floating seat with armrests. The adjustable steering wheel made access and mowing comfortable, easy and intuitive, and the wheel was well synchronized with the drive wheels. Having a safety belt, rollover protection, and control of front wheels will greatly enhance safety when we mow hillsides. We highly recommend this product.

Reduced mowing time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We also own a ZT2-54 for a few years that takes awhile to mow our property. Bought the ZTX6-60 to cover ground faster and it definitely does because of extra deck width and higher ground speed. Also safer on our slopes as I was always concerned about flipping the ZT2. The ZTX6 has a roll bar and seat belt which I always use now. The larger Kawasaki engine isn't bothered by tall grass, and it's nice to be able to scratch my head or adjust my hat with the free hand that the steering wheel gives me compared to lap bars. Also better straight-line stability on long slopes, because of the front steering and rear hydro control that's connected to the steering wheel through a patented mechanism. Tire treads on the front wheels keep the front end from wanting to drift. The first time that I used the machine I was disappointed in the harsh ride but when I checked tire pressure, the dealer had apparently inflated them to the maximum rating on the sidewall instead of the recommended pressure which is half as much. That made a big difference in ride comfort. I'd recommend this machine to anyone who has large rolling property. I also like the fact that Cub Cadet does not wrap the engine compartment with bodywork that hampers cooling and echoes noise, and makes service more difficult.

Very hard to turn no matter the speed. It is exhausting to drive. Cub Cadet wouldn’t let me return it. I will never buy from them again.

Beat all exceptions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have some steep hills mowing with a bx 25 kubota 60 inch deck. Most always need 4 wheel drive to mow around probley slightly over 20 deg. So i have heasited about going 0 turn, Then when the steering wheel came and no more lap bars! So i never thought it would mow where i need the 4 wheel drive with the kobota. IT DOES. Its not the complete billie goat the kubota is but its in the vicinity lol. On lose kind of rockey where going up and down with dirt bikes and sxs its not great, when going down with lose rollie rocks and will slide the back tires and slide. Give it a touch on the pedal to get the wheel back wheels rolling again it drives down but ur going down no stopping, On this loose dirt rock hill i went down it with the kubota only in 2 wheel drive with the front loader on. Its was a wild ride and i though i would run through my fence. back wheels brake would not hold at all and was sliding bad. with out the front end loader it would probly be ok, or if it was in 4 wheel drive cause the front wheel brake then as well. This is nothing like that,, yea sliding some but never feeling completely out of control.
Now same hill where their is grass OMG i can stop and even back up! Impressive and way better than i thought!! Side ways on hill no problems at all just like a car or truck.
Im twisting into places and just turning at the end of the row!!!! always had to do a quick back up with the sub compact, its quick with no shifting ( the bota) just touch the back pedal with your foot just like the mower but still have to back up. No more of that,, fantastic.
The ride im 180 and have the seat near max setting, Listen no one paid me to write this and i don't normally do reviews, but that seat not even air ride is another hit out the park!!! Its like the machine is just dancing underneath me but im floating above it. strange, but fantastic again impressive and one on the main things i wanted in a mower hence the reason i bought the ztxs6 60. I did a few things to the seat on the bx. it was better spring mods ect but this is just another level. Its just different somehow. I can sit back and run 9.5 across my yard and feel confident. the yard, its not always smooth i tell ya.
lowered the tire presser on the kubota it helped but also could cause problems mowing in sharp fast turns, with some unevenss. the cub has non of these problems.And i gotta say those 3400 hydros perform.
when i First got my bx25 i adjusted the hydro on it and ekked another mile an hour out of it for a top speed gps of 8.5 to 9 mph. I was worried the cub would be slower than the bx25 modded so first thing right off the tailor drag race. No question the cub was faster then gps said 9.5 to 10 mph on pavement flat ground same test as kubota. Again impressive!!!
speed, ride, cut quilty, and specks say i gained 5 ft pds of tq oved the d9 diesel on the kubota, And brother it cutts liked it too. it runs that 60 deck easier than the kubota and i promise its no slouch.
By now u know that i love this machine. itys pricey i guess,, but it is worth every penny!!!.
Ride, power, stability, billie goat status, (I can mow it all with this fears put to rest impressive) I could sell the kubota never though that. But ill still keep it for tiller back hoe front end loader and bush hog so its dedicated now that i have a zero turn s model.
Can take the deck off the kubota permanently now all 300 pds of it lol.
Too sum up i was hopeing for a 6 and got a 11 lol compared to the 4 wheel bx25 sub compact. Its a top top machine as well and im glad its staying around even though i dont have to have it to mow the bad parts anymore !!!
So theirs some sweep stakes thing when im ready too post. I bough this machine with my money and this is my honest review. I get nothing for taking the time too write this.. im just so happy with it.
