Works but is tricky to install/uninstall
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works OK for me. However installation is fiddly, especially if the side discharge chute is also attached. I find that I have to hold up the discharge chute with one hand while wrestling the mulch plate into position. It has three points of attachment (a metal pin, a plastic tab, and a hole) all of which need to be simultaneously engaged. If I only get two points attached, I find that I can't force the third point of attachment in without removing and starting the approach again.
I do not have clippings blowing out of any gaps if I get the installation right.

Cheap Plastic Molded Plug
I have had my mower for 2 years now and love everything about it.....except the cheap plastic plug used on the mulching kit. No matter how tight you try to get the plug to fit, grass still jams up at the back, and eventually comes out in "clumps" as you mow. The final result is a nicely mowed lawn covered in numberous glass clumps. Then you have to walk around and kick the clumps to even out the clippings. A better fitting, possibly metal plug needs to be made.

Good plug with mulching blades.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When installed properly this mulching plug does the job great. It can be tricky to get it seated properly, but once it is, you don’t get the grass build up on the discharge area others may have noticed.

Mulching at it's best
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit is great for use on my mower. Prior to installation, the grass would shoot out about 5 ft and all over the scrubs and the house. This Kit is great!!

Almost A Perfect Solution
I have a ZT1 42E. Purchased last year. Yard is approximately 1/2 acre. I started out using the side discharge. Did not like the lines of grass it left on the ground requiring second passes or a rake. I bought the rear bagger kit. Was not happy with it. The tube clogs if there is any moisture in the grass requiring you to stop, detach, an empty. It could really use another blower to get the clippings where they belong. Finaly, I bought the Mulching kit and blades. As others have noted, there is a gap between the deck and the mulching cover. Solved this with some very, very sticky tape. Still have an issue. The grass growth here has me mowing the lawn 2 times a week. I find I need to cut the grass longer than I wish, e.g. 3.25in vs 2.25-2.5 in. What happens if I don't is the clippings blow up from under the right front of the deck and land on the engines. Which removes the air cooling needed to run. The solution is to blow air on them and clear out the clippings. I purchased a portable air compressor to take care of this. Those with gas powered units should not have this issue. Other than that issue, this unit works very well. Grass is cut cleanly. Leaves no lines of cut grass.

Great attachment
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great. I would have given it 5 stars but it's a little difficult to attach and remove. Also it should have something to hold the spring loaded chute up while using the mulcher. Otherwise you can't get close to things on the right side.

Mulching Kit for 42-inch Cutting Decks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to block the discharge chute so the grass would not blow all over the place. It took a few times of adjustment to get it to sit correctly so the grass would not blow out. Once that was done, it worked out perfectly and now the grass and dust doesn't blow all a over the place.
