Good and Bad
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Install was fairly easy once the deck was removed. Once complete I was a little disappointed with the performance. Clippings blew out the front and now that its fall the leaves aren't being mulched as much as I would have expected.

Works great and keeps clippings conrolled!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality is good and easy to install. Wish the installation of the blocking plate could be performed without the use of a tool to pry it over the securing stud. Otherwise good accessory and works well to mulch up grass and leaves.

Does Not Fit Properly
Blades are great but the shroud insert does not fit the XT2 42” deck properly. After struggling to make the plastic shroud fit the deck, I decided to drill another hole in order to secure the shroud. The wire retaining piece held in place for 20-30 minutes. Overall, POOR fit!

Can't be correct. Poor Fit.
I read the reviews about the flimsy plastic cover and grass coming out between gaps. I figured it couldn't be that bad. The dealership that sold me my Ultima ZT1 42 assures me this is the correct part. I've not used it yet but I'll be covered in clippings from the look of it.

SWITCHING BETWEEN MULCH AND SIDE DISCHARGE
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought Cub Cadet LX42 tractor and had mulching kit installed. It works great when I can cut grass twice a week. But when I cannot cut it that frequently, how do I exchange the mulch cover with the side discharge shoot?

Worked great for me!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read all of the reviews and many negative ones centered on the fit and performance of the molded plug. For my application (ZT1 42) I felt everything fit perfectly and worked as advertised. I wish I bought this sooner!

The plug does not really work, the grass acumulates in the crack and leaves big chunks in the yard. I will try to secure it with zip ties.. thats what everybody seems to be doing.
Sucks I have a beautyfull tractor and I need to drill holes and put zip ties..

its okay...
They work okay. It leaves alot more clumps in the yard than I would expect. Other reviews mentioned issues with the pug, it seems to fit just fine for me, but just doesn't chop the grass as much as I wanted. I would work better with thinner grass I guess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Is it perfect, no.....does it work, yes. I just mowed my lawn with the mulch kit attached and it performed well. My lawn hadn't been mowed in awhile and was thick and tall but it was not a problem.

Mulching Blades
New zero turn. Purchased the mulching blades because we do not like side discharge. Works perfect. Read online that it still get up on the deck via a hole. Not sure what they are talking about because this one doesn't! Very happy with purchase.

42” Fab Deck on XT, help with angle of mulch cover
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bumped the mounting tab near the front deck wheel on 42” fabricated deck. The mulch cover now has a gap, in the front edge. What angle does the metal mounting hole tab need to be set at?

Cub Cadet mulch kit

Plugged up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a great job but the mulching plug was a struggle to get on, very tight fit. We had to drill the plastic hole larger to get it over the left hand screw. Otherwise works well.

Mulching works as advertised. For my electric 42E XT1, battery usage is about double the non-mulching setup -- important to know. Blade bolt and torque specs in the mulch kit manual are incorrect for the 42E XT1 deck as well.

Blades didnt fit my 42" deck
My ZT1 42" has a star shaped fitting for the blades so the blades did not fit and i had no idea of this until I had the deck removed, so i was unable to make sure of the correct blade fitting before purchasing.

Works Fine

I bought the mulch kit 2 years ago. I agree with others that have said the cover doesn’t fit very well. It’s not tight and leaves a gap and grass either goes through the opening or clogs it up.

MUST HAVE for your Cub Cadet 42 inch mower.
Absolutely pulverizes the grass clippings into tiny pieces. There's very little clumping unless your grass is damp, but this is the best mulching kit on the best mower I've ever owned.

Good but not simple

Dull from factory
The blades came dull though that was the way they were designed so I put them on thy draw 3x the power then the cutting blades. Check if drawing to much power thy need sharpening
