Stopped working less than a year later
I bought hit sis December of 2023 and use dit maybe twice all last winter. We didn't get much snow. I just pulled it out of the shed to get ready for winter and it won't start. It had a little bit of fuel left in the tank from last year but not much at all and it certainly isn't old enough to affect the start up. Just goes to show that everything is junk now. Nothing is made to last. If it's still under warranty, I'm bringing this back

Absolute Garbage
Absolute Garbage...I have a riding Cub lawnmower that I absolutely love. This snowblower I have had for 1 season and haven't even paid it off yet and it won't start.
Check the spark (fine) now it won't go back in without taking the entire thing apart.
Pretty sure it's the carburetor. Which should be a thing after one season. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

DO NOT Buy!! Terrible
I have had this for less than a year. In that time….lost two cotter pins that work the controls…the lights do not work and the engine is impossible to start. Buy any other brand!!!! You will wind up shoveling

Deeply Disappointed - This Should Not Happen
I finally decided to invest in a snowblower after years of doing without. I purchased the Cub Cadet 2X 28" 272cc model from Home Depot for the last snowstorm in February of 2025.
Unfortunately, the first unit didn’t even make it out of the truck, the cable ferrule for the steering trigger snapped immediately. That should have been a warning sign but I returned it, assuming it was a fluke, and exchanged it for the same model.
I used the replacement once, stored it properly for the summer, and when the snow returned today (November 2025), the machine didn’t even hint that it wanted to start.
After spending the money and months of thinking I was prepared for winter, I’m now literally back to shoveling I can’t describe how furious I am right now.
On top of that, while trying to troubleshoot why it wouldn’t start, I realized the handle/auger control assembly doesn’t look like it was put together correctly. The auger control lever doesn’t sit or move the way it should, and the linkage seems to bind up. It’s pretty clear it wasn’t assembled properly from the start.
After two failures, one out of the box and one after a single use, I am extremely disappointed, I genuinely expected better from Cub Cadet. I chose the brand because I thought it meant reliability. Right now it feels like the opposite.
I don’t know what their warrantee’s cover and for how long, but it seems like I will now be wasting my time finding out, and I really hope someone from Cub Cadet reaches out because I want this resolved. I didn’t buy a snowblower to end up back where I started, but with less money in my bank account.
