Poor condition
I bought this in October. The starter had to be replaced in February. The battery is now dead. The warranty is useless. The only place that services warranty issues did not accept any new customers. Be ware.

Disappointment
I purchased my lawn mower several years ago. By the third year parts began breaking. I have spent more than the cost of the mower just trying to keep this thing running. The entire electrical system has been replaced. I have replaced the starter twice now. The mower deck had to be completely rebuilt. The steering wheel is no longer engaged with the rest of the steering system. The mower randomly won't start. The hood is held up by plastic pieces that have been replaced three times. I have the vehicle serviced each time the oil needs replaced and always replace the oil filter, the fuel filter and the air filter. Two mechanics have told me they would not purchased a new Cub Cadet because the quality is so bad. I gave it two stars because it did last two years before the never ending need for repair began. Save you money and do NOT buy this product.

3 years and 173.8hrs Blew up!
This mower was bought in 2021, problems with running rough last 2 seasons. Regular oil changes, battery change, many new spark plugs and today at 173.8 hours it blew up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased my XT1 LT46 on 04/21/2019 for residential use at my house in east Tennessee and have been using it for basic lawn mowing and pulling around a small trailer as well as using an attached fertilizer spreader that mounts on the back. Have also used it to pull a homemade spike drag around the yard as well as an aerator. For these past 7 years it has performed flawlessly. I have always performed the required maintenance and kept sharp mower blades on it. It pulls the trailer with hundreds of pounds of soil, rocks, 12 bags of mulch, 7 bales of hay, and much more, as if there is nothing even back there. I am amazed at the power of the engine and reliability of the belt drive train. I put more aggressive tractor-like tires on the back to avoid getting stuck or spinning the tires on my hilly and often wet property. Only thing I have ever had to do was follow instructions to vent the transmission that was starting to slip when going in reverse. The hydrostatic transmission is a true bit of genius that I really enjoy about operating the tractor. If you keep this little tractor clean and maintained, store it inside as it deserves, and use it sensibly, yours will last a very long time as has mine. I haven’t even had to replaced the belts yet. Best little tractor/riding mower on the market as far as I am concerned.

Tractor was ok, battery was not.

I wanted a 5o inch cutting deck, but it was completely out of stock everywhere. Be nice to have more inventory on hand.

Great little tractor!

2020 Cub Cadet XT1 LT46
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 in June 2020, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. It’s been a dependable workhorse from day one, and I make sure not to push it beyond its limits like I did with my previous Cub Cadet riding mower.
I regularly use it to mow and maintain 2.5 acres of lawn and wooded trails, cutting about 5–6 times each season. It handles detailed mowing around landscaping and garden areas with ease. In addition to mowing, it pulls a 30-gallon liquid fertilizer sprayer several times a year and hauls:
- Yard wagons loaded with dirt or mulch
- My 8x12 utility trailer
- A lightweight enclosed trailer
- My 1956 Trotwood travel trailer
For the past two winters, I’ve paired it with a Cub Cadet 3X 42" snowblower to clear my 12-foot-wide, 289-foot-long driveway, plus another 4,000 square feet between my garages and shop. It tackles snow just as impressively as it cuts grass.
I have zero complaints about its performance, reliability, ease of maintenance, or quality of cut. If something ever happened to this unit, I’d buy the same model again without hesitation.
I even fabricated my own ball hitch, which allows me to move my three road trailers around the property and inside my shop effortlessly.
Currently, I own four Cub Cadet machines and look forward to adding more—especially the string trimmer, yard cart, walk-behind snowblower, and chipper—to replace my remaining non-Cub Cadet equipment when the time comes.
NOTE: I purchased this unit to replace my Cub Cadet 1040 LTX, which I bought new in 2007. Over the years, I pushed that mower beyond its limits—hauling a utility trailer loaded with 1,500–1,800 pounds of firewood hundreds of times—until the frame finally broke. That kind of load was simply too much for it. Everything else on ti was still great after 12 years of service.

Love my cub cadet

Garbage Product and support
Bought this mower last spring, and with light use the drive belt has already snapped. Mower was always stored inside and only saw light use. Cub warranty does not cover this and they don't even have the service manual publicly available to replace this part. For the price, I would expect better quality and support instead of having to tear apart my tractor after less than 1 year and not even being able to get proper service information. You may as well buy one of the no-name ones, I guess they're just trading of the name but this certainly doesn't compare in quality to the older cub cadet mowers.
It does an OK job of mowing but not spectacular, the deck bounces more than I'd like on anything besides the smoothest turf. The only positive for this is the stock AGM battery, that is the one premium feature. That said, no support and poor warranty means I will definitely not be buying another cub product.

Starter Solenoid Failed with Less Than 40 hrs Oper
