Product Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good machine but expected more. I bought this product about a month ago after much review. Cub Cadet based on review was a leading choice based on my use and needs. Where I live there is a lot of wet snow, last blower struggled and I found I ended moving snow a couple feet and needed to do the drive way 3 times to clear all the snow. It was an older 9.5 HP model and this model was a 13 HP thus my want to upgrade. Where the machine for me has come up short. It does toss the wet snow further but I hopped it would move it 10 feet, I get maybe 5 feet. This can simply be my expectations being unreasonable. The second item is I have gone through 5 shear pins in three snow blows. I do have a gravel driveway but I am not picking up a lot of rock, lasts shear busted at start up in a garage. These were the factory shear pins and replacement pins that came with the machine. The machine is also very slow in first and the first reverse gear barley moves, this may be a simple adjustment of the drive cable but again this machines less than 3 hours on it. It is under warranty and the dealer is more than happy to address this. Last item is starting, I do use the pull cord and have not quite mastered the first pull start yet. This may be earning curve but my last machine took very little effort to start. Positives is the constructions, the thicker metal and the pure weight of the machine makes me feel it is solidly built. Love the hand warmers, everything is well located and easy to use. Light snow the machine is a beast, it will toss snow much further than my last machine in this type of snow fall. I have a 12x16 shed, about 10 feet tall and this will toss light snow up and over the shed from 10 feet away. Clearing my driveway has been cut by a half hour! Overall I feel I am satisfied but not delighted based on what the machine cost and my expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does not clog up like 3x 30" machine I purchased this blower approx. one year ago to replace a 3X 30" machine which I reviewed two years ago,( not a flattering review) ,however I find the 26" machine to be a lot easier to use and has not clogged once, lots of power, good blowing distance, still the same problem shifting into reverse, too hard to shift, too slow,I did solve some of the problem by changing the adjustments on the linkage, also put a bungy cord on the bottom shift rod and hooked it on the handle cross bar ,this puts a pull up on the linkage making it easier to put in reverse.Overall a fairly decent machine. Note: when you make the reverse faster you also make the forward gears slower)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Machine I purchased in 2012. I have put it to good use as I snowblow the street and in front of 3 neighbours. There is a park accross my street so it allows me to move all the snow accross the street. All i have done to it for repairs is minor adjustment foŕ the shifter (this is normal, especially with heavy use). Snapped a couple shear pins but that was operator error' as I was pushing it through iced snow bank. I moved to a small farm and still use it here. The farm owner has 2 "big box" store brands and I have come to really appreciate that I bought the HD as the ones my freind has are light weight and the frame feels soft. The only thing I regret is not having the handle bar warmer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 3X26 reverse and steering I am 78 years old and my driveway is 200mtrs long and uphill with several places that I have to back up. I purchased this machine because it had reverse and steering and I find that neither of them work very well. I have had the dealer adjust the cables and it didn't help. I want to get rid of this unit and I am wondering if the track machines have an actual transmission or the same mickey mouse drive this one has. The blower is just to heavy and awkward for me to handle if it can't back up and turn properly Cub Cadet should not even advertise a reverse or steering if this is the best they can provide.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor performance in wet snow purchased unit new on 11/01/2019. Had wet snow a week later after 10 min unit started missing due to moisture getting on plug wiring as it is not shielded. Also slots in shielding where intake can allow moisture to get to carb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent machine I used my machine for the entire winter, one shear pin break nothing much. The power is excellent the hand warmers are a treat.Has the power no doubt but any snowblower has challenges when it’s wet snow saturation levels dictate performance. Overall like the machine it’s heavy and sometimes awkward to remember the steering controls. So far loving my Stage 3 Cadet…I’m able to clear 4-5 driveways in no time helping my neighbours. It’s become a pleasure not a chore…at this stage definitely highly recommended, starts so easy never tried the pull start..lol..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy - Can't handle wet snow Broke down within the first 15 minutes of delivery. *Not an exaggeration.* This is my third snowblower - so not a novice operating a snowblower. 1) Auger and hopper clogged trying to clear 4" of wet snow. (I had already cleared similar snow with a very cheap, plastic blade, electric shovel with no issues). 2) First 15 minutes went like this - engine running on high, lowest drive speed forward. Auger clogs; unclog. Try to blow snow, clog/unclog. Try to blow snow, clog/unclog. (repeat). 3) Auger belt burns out (not under warranty - even if it's the first 15 minutes of use). 4) As other have mentioned, you own this product. No refunds. No warranty on the auger belt. 4) Dealer agreed to repair and pay for the belt, no charge (after some discussion). 5) Stay away from this one.
