Product Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hate it ! makes light work of light fluffy snow, but if it is wet snow... forget it, got 2" of wet snow last week, spent more time unclogging the augers and the chute, and replacing shear pins, I was creeping along in first gear, trying to clear about 30' of sidewalk, had to stop forward movement every couple of inches, or else everything clogged up, the impella would stop spinning the middle auger keeps trying to pack the snow in, it gets so compact that is shears the pins. and the smell of burning rubber from the belts filled the air. today I tightened up the cable slack so hopefully this will put more pressure on the belts and plates. I would love to sell or trade this in for something better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dry snow - Its a Beast .. Wet Snow, It is Useless [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my 3X 26" for 4 years now. With light fluffy snow, you can't stop it - It will eat thru 2' of snow. With wet heavy snow, it clogs up all the time and as other reviewers have written, it shears pins way to easily. We just received 14" of snow the last 2 days. It did great on my 100' long driveway, but when I tried to use it on the sidewalks where some plowed snow had piled, it was useless - plugging up . I sprayed all of the augers and chutes with dupont teflon spray, which helped some, but not much

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad purchase I live in new england and bought this machine last year. Disnt get much use out of it but was always disappointed with the power. This year we got 2 ft and broke 8 pins and shoveled most of my 300 ft driveway by hand. I chalked this up as too much heavy snow, but I was sold on the 3stage as powerful enough for this. Today i get 3inches break the rest of the pins I had on hand and while the pins were not broke is still couldnt handle the 3 inches of snow. Buy a better machine

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to handle snow blower but... I recently bought a Cub Cadet - 3X 26 snow blower to replace a 25 year old snow blower. The Cub Cadet is much easier to maneuver and I love the heated handles. However, the Cub Cadet does not throw the snow far enough. The old snow blower could easily throw the snow 25 feet across my double-wide driveway but the Cub Cadet cannot, regardless of the depth or type of snow (wet or dry). I expected the Cub Cadet 3-stage to throw the snow much, much further.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oops Bought in Fall this yr. (2019). Just used this past Wednesday for first time. Had about 5” of snow. This snow blower is not for applications hat r less than at least 6”. What happens is that it turns into a snow pusher instead of a blower because the second stage blades don’t pick up the snow unless I is deeper. It’s Ashame that this info is not mentioned in the product description!!!!! All the other features work great including the heated grips, chute controls, elec. start, skid plates, lights etc, just very disappointed in the lack of performance with the lack of performance with lesser amounts of snow

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy Any Other Thrower, Not This One I bought this two years ago and today was the best snow that I could try this beast out on. This thing has done nothing but plug up on me since I bought it. I always thought it was due to the snow being too wet, not that it mattered that much with my old Craftsman 2-stage, but this snow was just normal 2" dropping. One pass down my driveway required me clearing the chute and front 6 times, got so frustrated, the front got lifted and drove it back into the garage to come in the house to search for a fix online..........seems from a lot of these reviews, it's just the snow thrower. I would not recommend this snow thrower to my ex-wife or worst enemy, just garbage!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cub Cadet 3X26 One pro for this snow thrower is it is easy to start, doesn’t matter how cold it is outside it starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull every time, except what’s mentioned below. Now the cons: This snow thrower eats shear pins, if you buy one buy an ample supply of shear pins. Next, reverse gear is far to slow, you end up just pulling it back by hand and let me tell you that wears you out ( I’m 69 so it’s a work out), the power steering option, works ok if you have gloves on, but if you are wearing mittens, forget it, LED headlights, whomever decided that led lights were better has never did much snow throwing, they don’t get warm enough to melt the snow off them and after a few minutes they are useless, my next comment has to be for the rope pull, there are so many cut in groves on then and it fills with snow and then melts because of the warm motor and if you stop and shovel for a spell, you “may” have a frozen rope or if it comes out it won’t return, my last comment is that the chute plugs up a lot and you gotta stop and clean it out. I’m thinking there wasn’t a lot of RDT&E done on this model before it was released. If I had it to do over, I would purchase a Toro.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Snow plow, not snow thrower! I bought this blower because I get a lot of wet, heavy snow, and these were touted as being "snow throwers on steroids." What a joke. This thing can't handle wet snow at all - it is worse than my old 2-stage from another company. All it does is push the snow - I am so disappointed I want to kick it into oblivion. I am telling everyone I know NOT to buy this - it is a total waste of money.
