Product Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Quiet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super quiet and mows for a long time before requiring a charge. Live on a hill and works great. Does require more weight if grass is wet. Does not work well with bagger. Makes no noise just driving it around. It is the XT1 frame so it is not the fanciest and the smoothest, but I love this thing. I just drive my granddaughter around as it makes no noise and she loves it. After three mows of my property I am only down about 25 percent. My yard is a quarter acre or slightly larger. Charges quick in less than 4 hours. No maintenance required. No earplugs needed. Yes, I would recommend this product but not the bagger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Easy to push by hand Bought mower in June 2020. when got it home didn't even run. The electrical connections above the deck were loose. Fixed myself beind a mechanical graduate years ago. Lasted 3 months till end of season. No local dealers have a clue. Original dealer in Jacksonville,Il picked it up and returned it fixed. $125.00 pick-up and delivery fee. Vehicle control modul. It lasted 3.9 hours and is now dead. Will go in reverse but not forward. Thougt I was doing the good thing by going electric. Not so. When it ran it was ok. Rides very rough and the cut leaves much desired. Not happy at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHT WITH NO PARTS FOR FIXING This mower worked great until I needed parts covered under warranty. Now the mower has sat for over 3 months while we wait for a cut deck. The dealer cant do a thing because Cub Cadet has no parts. Unfortunately, the grass doesnt stop growing for 3 months and I now have a 4200 dollar paperweight and zero answers from the dealer or cub cadet. So be careful if you need a machine that will run and work consistently, this is something that you will NOT get with Cub Cadet zero parts availability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! This is a money sink I wanted to love this mower. I spent twice as much for it as a gas one costs as I wanted to do the right thing. Well not only I wasted money on purchasing a prototype, it has since cost me twice as much in repairs, not counting the money I had to spent on yard maintenance for all the months it sat in the repair shop. Not quite 2 years later I was able to clock only 27.2 hours of mowing and spent an additional $4000 in repairs + had to use the warranty once to replace both motors. And guess what, I just did my first mowing of the year today and half way through I have a motor error again. So now grass is growing and it's time to go back to the shop. I will be contacting Cub Cadet for an exchange or a return. I am just 200% disappointed in this purchase and this mower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water problem I did not find out untill I read the manual that you can't get water on the deck. No washing or even cutting wet grass. You can't even wash the top part as the water will drip down on the deck. There is even water in the air (they call it humidity) and although i keep my machine in the garage i can imagine the humidity just dripping off the deck. Then i suppose I would be accused of getting it wet and voiding the guarantee. I like to keep my stuff clean and nice and this issue is going irritate me as long as I own it. Does anyone out there want to buy a fancy mower,I'll give you a real good deal

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Xt1 LT42E good and bad I bought this mower about a month ago. On many levels it does exactly what I had hoped it would. It makes mowing the lawn more enjoyable with one big exception - the bagger system. The chute is constantly getting clogged just past the the first turn. I have to stop after two passes to clear the chute - VERY FRUSTRATING!! I cut my lawn regularly and the grass is dry when mowed. Love everything about this mower but this issue and it is a big one. If the lawn mower had the power to push the grass all the way to the bags I would give this product 5 stars plus.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Welcoming Myself to the Club [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this XT1 42E mower and had it delivered to the house on 3/30/21. Trying to go all electric as it's the wave of the future. Trimmers, edgers, hand mover are all electric and working fine (Kolbalt). Very cool looking Cub Cadet mower and worked great right up until this weekend. My yard is about 1/2 acre and flat. Went out to start it and nothing. Worked fine the weekend before. Stored in the garage at all times. Had 4 error codes all starting with 7. Charge showed 100%. Tried it throughout the weekend with same results. Has 9.3 run hours. Called all the service centers in a 30 mile radius and all said they don't work on electric riding lawn mowers. Called Cub Cadet and they are "searching" for a service center that will work on them. Will update as the process moves forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased with Mower! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mower performs very well and does what I would call an even "cub cadet" cut that many generic mowers can't match. The noise level when cutting is significantly lower than a gas powered model. This mower "feels" lighter than a traditional tractor (not a bad thing, just one to get used to.) It's easy to recharge (and meets its 4 hour max charging rate) and its a joy not to have to gas up, check the oil, etc. before each mow. Although I was apprehensive on it's towing ability, I've been able to tow everything I have in the past with gas tractors (aerator, lawn sweeper, wagon). I would absolutely recommend this mower!
