Shame on Cub Cadet
This is a poorly-designed, half-baked product from Cub Cadet. First of all, the plug fits poorly and does not seal off the chute 100%, resulting in a small gap which clogs with grass. Secondly, and most importantly, the blade design is abysmal. There is only one mulching tooth and large clumps of grass constantly stick to it, causing the blades to become off balance and vibrate excessively. As a result of this, all of my blades have been bent beyond repair and are now useless. Less than one year old! Save your money! The cut quality is much better with the stock blades and side discharge. If Cub Cadet stands behind their products then they should remove this from stores until they can come up with a better design. Until then, wait for Oregon to release their Gator mulching blades for this model.

Horrible
I've had the same bad experience as others... the blades aren't as good as stock, and the plug is just awful. The mower gets bogged down with the plug installed even cutting a small amount of length... the blades can't seem to keep up if that makes sense.
I decided to go back to using the original discharge chute as I couldn't productively get the job done with the mulch plug installed. Even now the mulching blades don't seem to make much of a difference and I'm left with strips of uncut grass and piles of clippings.
I look at my neighbor's yards with envy as they don't have the piles of clippings, and they're using 20 year old beater mowers.

Not worth the money at all
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I expected great quality,however what I got was cheap to thin plastic that I would say was a rushed project,the mulch plug plastic should have been made from a fiber based plastic and at the very least should have had 3 bolt connections instead it has only 1 bolt connection which allows the plug to be pushed out ¾ of and inch or better at times.

Does not cut well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These blades do not cut well and have no lift at all. I have to mow my lawn twice with this kit. No matter how sharp these blades are, it leaves stragglers all over on the first pass. To add to that, the whole reason I bought this kit is because I have terrible allergies and I need to keep the clippings/dust out of my face and eyes, but unfortunately the plug is also useless. I had to cut some threads in the end of the alignment rod on the plug so that I could put a nut on the end of it to keep it in place. With this modification the plug at least stays in place and seals the deck off appropriately, but it obviously doesn't solve the straggler issue. This kit needs blades that create more lift.

Cub Cadet should recall this item!
Cub Cadet has managed to put the worst mulching kit on one of the best zero turns mowers available. You have to force it to mount and it gaps allow clippings/dust to fly up all over the driver. You put the forth the effort to create a great mower - please do the same for the mulching kit.

Horrible design
Same complaints as others on here. Bad plug design that won’t stay in place. Clumps up and starts leaving lines of grass. Blades are no good compared to the stock ones. Total waste of money.

Great in theory but not the best
The blades do not cut as well as the stock blades and there is a gap because it fits so poorly that blow out grass and also clogs up. Not near as good as other mulching kits with other mowers.

I called my dealer they issued a complaint and I received a confor.# my complaint is the same as everyone’s. Cub said they are working on a fix they acknowledge the problem, hopefully it will be soon, I live in Florida. And we cut grass all year.
