Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable and tough I bought this to upgrade from my previous RZT46. This thing is well built and the deck looks to be bulletproof. My backyard has a good slope to it and this handles it easily. The transmission on this is beefier and it has more power. My only complaint is the deck height adjustment pin. You have to stop and move the pin to change heights which is a bit of a pain when you just need to change the height for an area you know is higher. The old system on my RZT was easier. I suspect they did this due to the heavier weight of the fabricated deck. Other than that, this is an awesome mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Responsive. Bought in the last week of May and with the dry weather only mowed 6 times. First time riding I could tell half way that it smoked the old tractor. Very responsive with a better ride and much nicer cut. Probably more than I need for the size yard but I figured fork over the coin for a heavier duty machine, maintain it the right way and get longer life out of it. Learning curve was very easy. We have several obstacles, sloped land in some areas and a 13-16 degree hill out back. Stability is very nice. I will point out that we have only done the back hill twice so far but I still felt comfortable on the hill. It’s a nice machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower I guess I will start with saying that I was a little hesitant at first but my local Cub Dealer was very patient and let me take the machine home to test it on my very hilly property. Well I drove the machine around for about 15 minutes and could not believe the difference in handling and speed vs my lawn tractor. So I decided to mow my lawn and was blown away by the performance versus my green lawn tractor. Not trying to bash the competitor but my green lawn tractor was bought new from dealer 8 years ago and progressively got worse at cutting last few years regardless of how many times I had the blades sharpened, replaced or the deck leveled. My local dealer for my green tractor could not figure out the problem and this year it was leaving a uncut strip every 42 inches. So I decided to purchase the Cub Cadet SX48 and couldn't be happier, plus my Cub Dealer gave me a good trade on my lawn tractor knowing it had a problem. So after now owning the SX48 for 3 weeks I am still very impressed. I have been able to cut my mowing time nearly in half. This machine traverses hills/slopes like nothing I have used before and I worked for a landscaper for 4 years when I was a teenager. This machine seems to be built very strong for a residential unit and has more than enough power in my opinion. Also the machine cuts better than any previous mowers I have owned. I am glad I decided to spend more and get a better machine, it was well worth it. My only regret may be that I didn't buy the Cub Pro Z100. If you are considering this machine (SX Series) you may want to look at the Pro Z100, that is a real nice machine but I couldn't justify the cost for my needs. Thanks Cub Cadet for the SX Series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure yet Just purchased and used twice. It is much safer on hills than my Kabota zero turn but not as fast or powerful. Only issue right now is it is very jerky when putting in reverse and transmission is jerky occasionally going fwd. I can't see any pattern in the cause of the jerking. Anyone else having this issue?. Neighbor's daughter just purchase same machine and has identical issue. Steering wheel cover was damaged when delivered. New one ordered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT Mower Excellent fit and finish. Handles exceptionally well, steering wheel is a revelation!!! One small nit to pick is no ROPS. This is a glaring flaw in an otherwise top notch product.
