Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good mower for what it can do [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the mower in July for my 8 acre property. Half my property is semi flat or gentle 5 degree inclines. The mower is great for general cutting on these areas with moderate length grass. Unfortunately it is awful on any type of incline. The other half of my property is 10 - 15 degree inclines and the mower does not handle these well at all. The wheels do not have solid traction and the lack of power in the mower makes it very difficult to turn out of downhill tight areas. Further, it seems the mower does not have equal traction on the wheels. When trying to turn on an incline in wet grass, the left wheel will sit while the right wheel spins. I have to twist and backup off the incline or maneuver to get any type of "Posi traction" effect out of the steering Finally, the cuts are not very even. Setting the deck height to 4", I find that If the grass gets a little long, over 7" or so, the blades have a hard time cutting evenly unless I go very very slow. This defeats the purpose of a fast mower. On reflection, I should have gone with a more commercial grade mower that can handle the terrain. If you live on flat land and cut your grass at least once a week, this is a great mower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too Noisy! I have just mowed about 3 acres and it is doing a fabulous job. Our property was an old cattle ranch so the ground is uneven and rough. I am a seventy year old widow of an electrical engineer who recently passed from a very fast acting cancer due to the Viet Nam War. I say this because I have no one to help with the mower now. This mower is too noisy!!!!!!!!!!!!! My senior year at university I researched noise pollution. What I learned from that paper I have never forgotten. I learned that this mower would be illegal in Europe. Europe requires mufflers on their products. American manufactures claim "Americans like to hear the sound of power." as their excuse for not stifflling the raw engine/loud noises of their products. I do not want to wear hearing aids in my old age. This mower is so loud, I had to check if my ear plugs were still in place. Come on! Cub Cadet! You could do so much better than that! What I also learned from my paper was that loud noises excellerate the growth of cancers and other infections. Not only are they annoying, but loud noises can harm us! I don't know how many stars to give this review. The mower is excellent and does a fantastic job. BUT it is much, much too noisy! I just had my sister read this review. She told me to give it 4 STARS. Since she is smarter than I am, that is what I will do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can’t say enough great things about it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my Cub Cadet ZT2 60” Zero Turn Riding Mower five years ago, and it’s been outstanding ever since. It easily handles my 2.5 acres of lawn plus the trails winding through another 2.5 acres of woods on our property. I initially bought it because I knew my Cub Cadet XT1 42” simply wasn’t “going to cut it” anymore—pun intended. The XT1 was perfect when I lived on a half-acre lot, but for a larger property, I needed more speed, comfort, and maneuverability. The ZT2 delivers all that and more. It’s comfortable, agile, and quick—cutting mowing time dramatically while making the job genuinely enjoyable. It feels solid and well-built; after five full seasons, I’ve never had a single breakdown. Even when I’ve accidentally hit hidden stumps (hard enough that I expected spindle damage), it’s held up flawlessly. I only have two small observations, neither of which are deal-breakers: - The air filter box tends to collect dust and debris. I just clear it out after each use—simple preventative maintenance. - The right hydraulic reservoir has dipped slightly below the fill line twice, after about a season and a half of use. I haven’t found any visible leaks, so I just monitor it periodically. Maintenance is straightforward, and everything about the mower’s design feels intuitive—from control adjustments to deck cleaning. The seating position and armrests make longer mowing sessions comfortable. It powers through thick, fast-growing grass without hesitation, and its turning radius and handling are phenomenal. Even though I occasionally give it a break and mow with my Cub Cadet XT1 42” (which still stripes the lawn beautifully), the ZT2 is my go-to for its speed and efficiency. The XT1 takes nearly twice as long to do the same job. I’ve even adjusted my landscaping so the ZT2 can reach almost every area. These days, the XT1 mainly serves for fertilizing and spraying with my 30-gallon tow-behind tank. Overall, the Cub Cadet ZT2 60” has been a terrific investment—rugged, reliable, and genuinely fun to use. I highly recommend it to anyone with a large property who wants professional results and long-term durability.
