Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome machine bought this thing back in september as a replacement of my ariens that i sold off. it didn't hold a candle to this machine. it sat from september when i bought it til january when we got a good snow of about 9 inches. one pull on the recoil and it started, let it warm up for a bit with the hand warmers on. then i got to it. my drive is about 150 ft long and wider than most. it blew through that snow and made short work of it. i am thoroughly impressed with the ease that it worked. get the hand warmers to. it is worth it. just used it again over the weekend and got the same result.. great machine.... love my lawn mower to!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Great Product I'm 60 yrs old, have had a quad bi-pass heart surgery; am 5' 6" and weigh 150 lbs. The size of this unit had me a bit worried - although I am strong for my size and age I thought this snow blower might be a bit rough out in the snow; I was wrong - the power steering is GREAT and makes this snow blower a breeze to use. The electric start sold me but I confess to never having had to use it - the pull start is easy and the engine starts so easily I've never had to plug the electric start in. This is the snow belt of Ohio - we get large amounts in the winter. I used to dread snow storms but not so much anymore - I actually now look foreward to clearing my drive and the neighborhood sidewalks since purchasing this snow Blower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome machine Bought my 524 we on 2/3/2011 from neiding a tractor in berlin heights ohio after alot of reading of reviews about snow blowers. I went to this dealer and the owner rolled this machine out into the isle hit the prime twice and it started on first pull even after it sat on showroom floor for 4 or 5 months, that alone almost sold me. When i got it home fired it up ( first pull again ) made a pass back to my workshop and wow it was throwing the snow 40 -50 ft onto my neighbors house. After an easy push of the shute lever (down) it was awsome. Im very fussy about quality and believe me i wouldnt be writing this if i didnt feel like this was a quality machine. I will update this at the end of this winter but for now buy this cub cadet if you can find one!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around blower After using my single stage snow blower thru last years record snowfall I decided it was time to upgrade to a two stage blower. I spent a lot of time researching the different makes and models and chose the Cub Cadet 524 SWEB. With only light snow this year I haven’t given it a real workout yet (and hope I don’t have to) but I love the trigger control power steering. It turns on a dime. It goes up our 12 degree drive without any problem. I’m still getting used to having powered wheels and not pushing the blower thru the snow and the single handle chute control but what a difference. The chute control does seem to move and not stay in place but so far I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a machine .. . . Easy to use . . . I shopped around, read reviews and found that there is a BIG difference in snow throwers. The 524SWE is the best of the best and a true bargain. Electric start too!!! Have not even needed the electric start because the pull is so easy. Nearly killed ourselves last year while shoveling. This year it is so easy to clean walks and driveway that I have even done the neighbors too. Cub Cadet obviously makes quality products and this model is proof. My wife even tried it and now she wants to share the snowblowing tasks :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Choice in snowblowers I looked at several versions before settling on the Cub Cadet 524 SWE. It has all the options making it a very nice and affordable snowblower. The 0% Interest for a year sold me on the spot. The chute control needs some fine tuning, I broke it the first run, but it did not cause a problem, as main blower works fine. I filled the fuel, checked the oil, adjusted the blue skids, tire pressure. Plugged it in and started like it was running for hours. Started with ease! Took for a trip around the driveway to get a feel for the controls, and all the features are great! Speeds are comfortable. It throws snow with ease. I have a ruptured disc in my back, and bought this to avoid shoveling snow, and I'm confident this equipment will take care of my needs in the Michigan snow in many winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Myy Back says Thankyou I replaced a 15 year old snow blower with the 2X 24". My old blower all the controls were at a low level which means I have to bend over to adjust the angle of the shoot or to shift gears. With my new 2X all the controls are on top, so no more bending over. My old blower was OK when I was younger, but as I got older my back could only take about 20 minutes before I had to rest my back. Now I can go for hours. I compared the 2X with my old blower and I can say it blows snow much better. A recent 8" of snow was no problem. My back felt so good I did the driveways of two of my neighbors. I purchased through a dealer and that was my best decision. Dealers are more helpful than your local chain stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neighborhood Loves It! Living in Chicago northern suburbs I must say people around here really do not appreciate a REAL snowblower. I grew up in Fargo, ND where we had chains on our tires on our Cub Cadets! The neighbors who do have a snowblower have the small push and throw type and are just plain wimpy. I come along after a snowfall and the very first day it snowed after I bought it late last year we got 5" of snow. I went around the block twice taking care of 22 homes. The next day we got an additional 3" and I had to get in my car and drive around to count the homes I snowblowed. It was 46! So, now you know why my neighbors love "The Bird" as it is known as.
