Product Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Quality Control Cub Cadet denied me my original review when it was just the facts. Let's try again. Protective coating during manufacturing was not completely applied when built. Parts came off that were pre-assembled and now lost in the snow. It got the job done in the end but what a pain. Real difficult to adjust the cable to drop the blade easily no matter how tight I've made it. All that and it was lost, then arrived with other damages, some under the bubble wrap. Same kind of problem getting the mower, they had to repaint it after damages. You shouldn't censor my review if you don't oversee and maintain the standards of your shipping company, that's only part of the problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well for Snow Plowing I bought this plow for my ZT1 54" mower. It is a nice, heavy plow and I use it for plowing snow from my driveway in the winter in NH. 3 months in of using it, and overall I like it and would recommend it. It makes plowing small snow storms of up to 4" a breeze. Larger storms with 5"+ and/or wet heavy snow can be harder to tackle with this plow, mostly because of lack of traction on the ZT1. I ended up putting some additional weight on the back of my ZT1, which helped with larger snowfall accumulations. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I did receive a mis-fabricated "H" bracket upon the first receipt of the plow, and had to contact customer service (who was great) to get a replacement bracket. After installing the replacement part, installation was easy enough, and the plow works nicely. One small tweak I'd also recommend is putting some locking top nuts on to help hold the trip springs in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Light Duty Only If you have a short paved driveway and just a couple inches of snow, this should be fine. But if your like me with a long gravel driveway that's on an incline, walk away from this. It's not so much the plow, but a zero turn even with chains has no push, no traction to do any kind of work that's useful. And the blade controls really need to be re-engineered,especially the one for angle setting, it is really difficult to set your blade angle without having to get out and push on the blade directly. Sorry to say, but I wasted my money on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zero turn plow! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed with the packaging, some other reviews claimed shipping/packaging was poor but it was great for me. Easy to follow instructions and was able to mount this by myself in less than an hour! Had my first chance to use it with about 4” of snow and it worked great! Only 4 stars because as other reviewers stated it is hard to adjust the angle of the blade while seated. If you leave that mount bold slightly loose it helps a ton. If cub would add a small motor and remote this would be 5 stars all day long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great, love it! Great attachment to my zero turn mower. Works as advertised. I've been able to put away my snow blower and just use the plow. My only issue is once in awhile I do need to get off the tractor to angle the plow blade but overall very happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs improvement I have used my plow for two good snows now. The strength of the system and the mounting design are good. The “turn from seat” boast is misleading. The first time I used the plow I became angry because you have to get off the mower, walk around, move the blade, walk back around and get back on the mower. Before the second use I took the assembly apart and placed Lucas Red grease between the plates and put it back together. It still won’t turn from the seat without my butt coming up and the mower dying. There is an engineering defect in the angle of the push/pull rod. To keep from loosing my temper I used an adjustable paint pole to push the blade in the direction I wanted it. I hope Cub Cadet will improve the design and offer the required parts to customers for free. We may have to use a conduit bender and make the correction ourselves. I used a CC SLT 1550 with a plow for 15 years and was never frustrated like this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Should of just bought a snow blower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First snow and I wasn’t home to take take of it so the snow iced over this plow is useless. Even after scrapping up the ice and using the plow to push it, the blade just wants to fold down. Definitely would not recommend
