Impossible to replace line
This thing worked great for about 2 weeks. Then the bump line feeder stopped working so of course the line rolled up inside. I opened it up to pull out the line - there was lots left - and then looked at the instructions to replace the line. HAHA it must be a joke. Insert the line through the 'entry eyelet' and push it through the head until it comes out the exit eyelet?? What? I've tried that about 50 times and the line does NOT come out the exit eyelet. I can't even believe those are the instructions. Can anyone reading this help me? The line finds a hole on the side every time and never come through the exit. I'm not sure how you're supposed to get that to work.

My Cub Cadet ss470 has been sitting in the shed for over 4 years with the original price tag still attached. I used it 3 or 4 times and the string kept jamming up, then the little metal rings came out of the head, Its been sitting ever since. I may have even threw out parts of the trimmer head. I bought a used Ryobi at a yard sale and have been using it ever since. I did buy a universal trimmer head for it but it would not fit so I returned the new head and parked the useless Cub at the back of the shed.

Don't buy
Had this for trimmer for 3 years. Used only a couple times each year, so about 6 times. Now it spews oil when starts. Took it tonrepair shop and they said it's beyond repair. Theo oil goes past the puston rings and straifht into the carburetor. NOT IMPRESSED!

Very disappointed
Used this 3 times and terrible performance. Difficult to start, when I finally get it running without stalling following the start instructions, there is very little power and it will eventually stall again, and again. Disappointed.

Frustrated in the Burg from
50% of the product is awesome.
I recently purchased this product and operated it for 3 hours. I've been trying for 2 days now to load the trimmer spool. Later today I'll see if my Stihl spools will fit on this unit. Engine runs awesome but the casing heats up and I burned my arm on it. It will likely be an awesome machine once I change the trimmer head.

Won’t run long
I went through three of them from retailer still can’t get one to run more than 45 min. Shuts off won’t go again until it cools down completely, on the third I gave up returning them and went to a cub cadet dealer and was told they are junk and they don’t sell nor service them wish I knew that before I lost the receipt

Used this trimmer only a handful of times and now there is oil spewing out of it. Took it to repair shop and they said motor is shot. Rings on the piston have failed. They said it cost more to repair than what it's worth and they have written off many of these trimmers.

Good for the money
bought in 2018 mdl;ss470 item 41adz47c812 , changed motor oil every 5 hours , as it is a small motor . still starts as the day we bought it , very please with it so far , was worth the money we paid .
