Great features and easy handling
I am totally pleased with my Cub Cadet. After a couple adjustments, it does a beautiful job of mowing and the handling is super easy. We have owned CC in the past.

great price and performance
I bought to replace an older riding lawn mower. I looked at several but decided on the Cub Cadet because of price and value.

XT2 LX42 KH is a winner !
I have never owned a riding mower so Inhave nothing to compare to. I did lots of online research of cub cadet and other brands. The cub offered the most bang for the buck. Though I only have about two hours I am so far pleased with my purchase. Time will tell. I did recommend the brand to my neighbor who ended up purchasing a brand new XT1.

Plenty of hustle and muscle
First new lawn tractor and, like most shoppers, I exhaustively read and reviewed all the info I could find. The LX42 had the engine power, smoother operation, tight turning radius and dealer availability I was looking for. The Kawasaki engine appears to be a significant advantage over competing models so far.
I mow approximately 2 acres of my land, mostly flat but a few significant slopes and much of it requiring tight turns around various trees. My Cadet has proven exceptionally maneuverable and has had plenty of power to cut down chest-high grasses (albeit slowly) and climb moderately steep slopes. The deck cleaning hose attachment is a nice thought and the good ergonomics are matched by the lack of vibration through the steering wheel because of the relative smoothness of the engine.
I cover more ground, in less time with this mower than I would have thought possible. Thumbs, and as many other appendages as I can mange, up.

Very Pleased with the tractor. I chose the Kawasaki motor option and I am very happy with how it performs. It is much quieter, and well worth the extra money. I especially like how easy it is to shift from forward to reverse so easily and so far am very happy. The adjustable seat with cupholder is also very nice. I would highly recommend this mower to anyone.

Best purchase ever
Very very very happy with this lawn mower, used to take me 3hrs just to mow, now I do it in 40 mins. 1 hour including weed whacking and clean up.
Can not beat the warranty and the service from cub cadet.
My grass has never looked so good and I believe it’s because of the clean cut you get from this mower.
I’m telling you my friends, check out a cub cadet before making a purchase !

Upgraded from an MTD
When I was a kid I loved sitting on the Cub Cadet Lawn Tractors at the county fair and promised myself I would own one. Now I can scratch it off my bucket list and I'm glad I did. I had owned an MTD Lawn Tractor until the deck fell off after 14 yearsof service and I decided to buy a Cub Cadet, after research I purchased the LX42 KH and WOW, I look forward to having to cut the grass where before I dreaded it because it was too much labor; the Cub Cadet is so easy to steer and drive it is everything I had imagined as a child, my yard has never looked so good - with all of the rain we've had it is still spring green and I can't wait to find a day of dry weather in the forcast so I can cut. I also purchased the Cub Cadet Lawn Edger so all of sidewalks and driveway edges are sharp; and with the Cub Cadet Snow Thrower that I purchased last year my garage looks like a Cub Cadet Dealership!

I have the Kawasaki engine and it runs smooth and has more power then I will ever need for mowing the lawn. The mower is a pleasure to drive and LOOKS great.

Just What The Lawn Dr Ordered
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mower is working great. Lawn has never looked so velvety and the extra oomph of the Cub Cadet XT2 is exceeding my expectations. Climbs and descends the hills in my yard and manages all the uneven terrain very well. Very pleased with this product and the time it saves maintaining the yard. Thanks Cub Cadet for your help!

Nice mower
Very nice mower ,very comfortable to drive , rides nice , the steering is very easy , feels like power steering with a tight turning radius, mower has very good blade speed that allows you to cut the grass at a good speed , I got the Kawasaki motor and it is better than the Kohler motor , I would highly recommend this mower

Great mower
Very comfortable, excellent controls, quiet and powerful. The bagger works well but the chute tends to clog up when the grass is wet.

Had an old (26 years) Cub that still ran well but was underpowered for my needs. Working fine in it's repurposed life at my daughter's flat property. This new machine is grand. GREAT turning radius, better (foot) controls, reverse gear mowing, more than adequate power, a cup holder, and it's puuurty...
Pretty good value too.

Fantastic Mower with lots of power
This is my second cub cadet first one was a ltx1142. I’ve had this xt2 LX42 about 2 years now and it has worked great. Tows little utility trailer well even when loaded up heavy. Features I wish it had was a bit more storage like my old one and grab handles on the side would be nice but everything works great with it.

I had a 1045 previously, but I bought this mower. 1st problem is the linkage for the brake is on the outside of the cab floor instead of on the inside which makes it very difficult for any one of any height to get on and off the mower. 2nd the voltage/hour meter is way down low where you don't see it easily. 3rd the oil drain hose should be a couple inches longer and it's securement is very bad. 4th it is hard to tell how much gas you have riding on the mower; the old method with fuel guage facing the operator where it could easily be read by operator while mowing. 5th there is no grab handle on the side of the fender; so now I have to grab the fender which puts my hand close to the drive wheel. It makes it very hard and potentially dangerous when you are having to mow any area that you are mowing on an angle. The best thing I can say about this mower is that the steering has been improved quite a bit, and makes tight turning a whole lot better than the older models (3) that I have owned which were all cubs.

What I was hoping it would be
2 seasons (80 hours) of mowing now behind me. This mower does everything i ask it to do. The V-Twin engine is a welcome change from a single cylinder John Deere. The only negative so far is that one of the skinny deck gauge wheels broke in the first 2 weeks.

Yellow better than green
Just bought a XT2 LX 42 w/Kawasaki engine & preferred the comfort of it over all others that I tested. So far it's been great & it encouraged me to build an 8 x 16 mower port that I've wanted to build for years. Green all around, but I like the yellow.

Awesome
I bought this lawnmower about 3 months ago and it does a very good job. Yesterday I cut my neighbors lawn who just moved in, and had a 1/2 acre and had got to 3'. It cut it no problem and when I finished with hers I cut my 1/2 acre with no problem.

Not impressed from
No better than any other brand
Have had my 22 HP XT2 for a couple of seasons now, replacing a not-to-be-named retail brand 18 HP. Although the mower has run dependably, it performs very poorly compared to the 8 or 9 year old mower it replaced. I’m not saying marginally poor, I mean outright poor - despite a 6 HP advantage. Weak in pulling any attachments, weak on even slight uphill grades. Leaves some grass bent vs cut, even with blades sharpened. Items affixed to dash panel are loose and cannot be firmly anchored. Premium price for less than big box quality. I bought because of the Cub Cadet reputation and consider it a lesson learned. Will not buy from them again and would not recommend to others. I give one star more than the lowest rating because it has dependably run, but that’s the only solid note.
Will be interested in seeing if this review is posted as I find it hard to accept that the average is over 4 stars. If not, I’ll post in other forums where the terms don’t state “...Cub Cadet reserves the right to remove or to refuse to post any submission“.

Great quality & performance:
I purchased this for my son & daughter-in-law , they both love the
design & performance. They have told me it cut their cutting time in
half do to the sharp turning rate. They also said it cuts better than
their previous rider.

Smooth operation
I like the forward and reverse controls and how gentle they respond even in tight spots of operation. It cleans ups really easy and the finish appears to be very durable. I like the engine choice which works so efficiently.
