Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as intended. I read reviews by people who knock products and wonder if they ever owned anything prior or how much experience they've had with units built 20 years ago. Good quality, works the way I'd expect a grass catcher to perform. Yes I can see how clips would break if I was careless, or possibly if that particular unit had a manufacturer flaw, ie weakness. Been mowing lawns for 40 plus years, everything from Snapper, John Deer, Toro and Honda, this Cub Cadet bagger is a solid unit and a new favorite. The only thing I dont like is that it gets a lot of grass in it, and isnt as pretty as the pictures illustrate. But isn't that the point. Worth the money, I imagine I'll be using it for years before I have to replace anything based on my weekly usage over the past couple of months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High priced terrible bagger system I bought my ZT2-50” August 1919. Also paid the $500 for the bagger, which I hate, it’s a pain to take off the shoot every time it plugs up, cover broke after first use. Waste of money for the bagger, but I love the mower!! Best mower I’ve ever owned and I’m 63.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bagger is garbage Love my RZT -SX 46 mower however the bagger for this machine is the worst I've ever encountered. Simply not what I would have expected from Cub Cadet. Its flimsy and the hinge pin slides out constantly allowingthe hood to shift out of position. The bags are too small causing us to stop frequently to dump them. For the handsome price they ask for this accessory, you get a sub standard item that I doubt will last long. Seriously disappointed in Cub for this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If the grass is totally dry its works wonderful I didn't want to right a review until I had the summer to use the bagger. I do agree with the others the end clips are a poor design they brake easy. I end up putting 'vice grips' on the one broken end and it holds it great. lol The grass and leaves were air born all over the back. So I fixed that issue. But I would have to say my biggest thing would be the clogging from the damp grass. The grass has to be DRY no damp or wetness at all for me or it clogs in the tube. I absolutely love the yard when the bagger works right for me, My neighbor's always tell me it looks like a golf course over there lol. Thanks Margo

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bagger system I'm currently looking to buy a new cub cadet mower, but need a bagger system. Looks like I will look at other brand name lawn mowers since these have very poor reviews. My Craftsman lasted 17 years and the bagger system was flawless. Might just stay with that model. Love the Cub Cadets, but need a reliable bagger system.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I had this machine and bagger 1 season and the bagger is destroyed. The plastic keep breaking. All the clips broke off and the lid broke off at the hinge. This is after the dealer already fixed once. Very poor design. I wish I could return whole machine and bagger

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great mower, bagger is falling about I bought this machine and bagger in April, Zip ties to hold it together. I like the mower - but i kinda wish i kept my John Deere. I have over $3000 wrapped up in this thing

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible bagger I bought bagger tail end of last year. Have to vacuum in circles because it blows almost as many leaves out of right side of deck as it picks up. Its also being held together with zip ties and bungle cords because the latch has broken off. Finally gave up on it and went back to the old 2166 tractor and bagger thats over 20 years old. New one didn't even last 2 seasons!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage One season the lid already broke. Clippings fly everywhere and had to clamp the closed due to the fact it comes in done while mowing. Biggest pile of junk

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not worth it Makes you question the quality of all cub cadet products.....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bagger attachment Paying almost $500, I assumed this would be a quality product. Love the mower, but the bagger attachment is CHEAP. I have used it less than 90 minutes and it is falling apart. Don't even try to cut with any moisture in the grass. You will spend more time unclogging than cutting. Not an easy method to remove the shoot. I have a call into the company and pray they have a good answer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Bagger I bought this bagger last summer and it is horrible. Went to use it the first time this year and found a chunk of plastic was broken off in the corner and now the grass flies all over the place. Wouldn't think by keeping it in the shed over the winter that the cold would have cracked the plastic. Need a better product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible bagger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 11 hours on this lawnmower and the bagger won’t stay closed, because one of the tabs has broken off. It clamps on the rail with very thin plastic, which is also broken. Very poor design and very cheaply made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! Broke after 1 use. Broke after 1 use...They sent me a replacement part, and it broke as soon as I used it the second time. The plastic is very, very flimsy. Expected MUCH better when spending this much money on it. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible - Didn't even last one season We purchased our ZT1 and love the mower but this attachment is worthless! Made of cheap plastic and 6 pieces have already broken off. Held together with a bungee cord! Club Cadet should fix this!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Material and Bad Design The cover doesn't stay latched while mowing. Then you're blowing our clippings behind you. And now one of the latches broke and I'm going to have to figure some way of keeping the lid closed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied with this product. Honest review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very satisfied with my purchase. I'll admit I was skeptical after reading many negative reviews. I have over an acre to tend to and bought it primarily for cleaning up leaves in the Fall.. I cut and cleaned up fallen leaves several times on my property with no issues. The bags are just dirty with no wear and the bagging system is dirty yet still in great condition. I would say that I have filled and emptied the bags well over 50 times. No issues. I was cautious to make sure I didn't hit objects with the bagger. I payed attention to how I p pened and closed the lid and it's fine. Go ahead and buy one it made fall clean up a breeze foe me. It's a solid product just take care of it and it'll be fine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very poor quality This is the second season with this mower. Mower itself is great. The bagger itself is terrible. I have 1 screw and a door latch to keep it closed while mowing, and I have 7 zip ties holding the bags to the metal frame. Most of the plastic clips have broken. Don't waste your money on this bagger system.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design i used my zt1 42 for 1 month and the clips that hold the top closed broke i ordered replacements and install for the new season and they did not last much longer. Not pleased with thus unit

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes away a lot of maneuverability [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the bagger one time and took it right back off. It's the 21st century and you cant design a better bagger than this? The mower is long enough as it is, couldn't you design a slimmer bag system? To drive this thing around trees and fences and outbuildings is frustrating at the very least. The plastic cover is very flimsy. And I don't imagine that the clear tube will stand up to the sunlight for more than a couple seasons...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from needs improvment im on my second bagger already and this mower is barely a year old. if you so much as look at the plastic wrong it breaks. the latch though simple wears out after a couple uses. currently have a bungie holding the hood down since the latches don't hold the hood during use. that said, when in use this works wonderfully. since I don't feel like going another 6 months waiting for replacment parts I am going to just modify this to suit my needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frame is heavy duty; the top cowling is cheap crap This is our 2nd season with the ZT146 (which replaced a very worn Simplicity). We absolutely LOVE the mower. The bagger is another story. First of all, $450 is ridiculous for something purchased with a brand new mower, but I accepted that at the time. Like a few other reviews have mentioned (I wish I had read these before I bought it), the plastic top that serves as the clippings distributor and access for bag removal is of very cheap construction. The side clips misalign almost from the first use and from there begin to break. I just took it off at the end of its second season, which we got through with bungee cords, wire and a lot of uncaptured grass spewed around because of the bad seal, and it literally came apart in my hands. Nearly every connection that is meant to move is broken, only 2 of the clamps that fit over the tubular frame still function. The frame itself is fabulous; the bags hold plenty and show little to no signs of wear, the hose functions very well (sure, it plugs with wet grass but anything short of 4' diameter will) and is made of very sturdy materials. I came here hoping to find that you had recognized the flaws of the design and now offered and more substantial replacement. All I can find is an entirely new unit. Everything except the top plastic housing is just fine, why would I want to pay for all of that again? Unless they have made a change (admittedly most of the negative reviews are from 2 years ago when we bought ours) to improve that housing, if you are thinking about getting this unit, think again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of garbage As with all the other reviews, this bagger lasted all of (maybe) 2 mows. Then the plastic clips started falling off everywhere and it couldn't hold together. What a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 1st use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The plastic used to manufacture this bagger is garbage. The clips holding the lid shut broke during the first use and now I am tying it shut after every emptying. This process adds an hour to my cut time. Although I love the mower, I am very disappointed for an expensive attachment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Self Destructs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this grass catcher for my new ZTI-42 mower the end of last season. The top has been slowly falling apart. Tried many patches, zip ties and bungee cords. I'm sure some of the parts that have broken off have ended up in the grass bag on a second pass, Flimsy construction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lid design needs improvement I have owned my Cub Cadet xt1 for 4 years. I have the two bag bagger. It works well but I think the lid latches need a redesign. The lid pops open when I am on a hill and grass blows back out to the lawn. I have ordered a replacement part for the lid attachment but have been waiting more than 3 weeks for my part to show up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Double bagger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bagger is not the greatest, within the first few months of having the bagger my clips on both sides broke off. The bag also tends to not seal properly and blows grass and dust all over when mowing my yard. This bagger definitely needs to be updated to a better design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design I bought this last week and it is damaged. I installed as per directions and did about half of my half acre lot when the bottom shoot went into the blade and now it is garbage. Nothing came loose didn't hit anything just riding in a straight line and all of sudden this loud noise of the shoot being eaten by the blades.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bagger plastic clips are lacking in practical use! This is my 3rd summer of using the bagger (probably 3-4 times per year) and the plastic clip to keep the lid shut just cracked off. I've read several others say the same thing, yet it looks like they continued with a similar design. The mower is amazing, just wish I could say the same for the bagger design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from We dont care if you dont get your order Here it is November 30, the order was placed on October 31 and there has been no communication about the order being shipped, yet, Cub Cadet wants me to review the product. Buyer Beware this company needs some serious management. Where is my product.
