Product Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good w/exception to steering! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will have had this mower a year next month. For the most part the mower works great, starts everytime and mows well. My biggest issue was with the steering column. It gradually became worse and worse to the point I couldn't even turn the wheels. When I took it to our local service supplier they were able to repair it under warranty however, I did have to wait almost a month to get the part to their maintenance dept. Fortunately, one of the mechanics was able to jury rig the steering so I could use the mower while waiting for the part to come in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken in less than a month Bought CC30 Hydro. PTO seal leaked on 3rd use. The mower is at the dealer and my lawn is growing?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for my yard. Very happy with my purchase. It works very well for my yard and fits perfect in my shed. Only thing is I wish it had a hours meter on it so you could better keep track for oil changes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower That's Easy to Use Great mower that is easy to use! Greatest features are the hydrostatic transmission, reverse cut & very tight turning radius. Great for flat lawns, but seems top heavy on any kind of slope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Riding Mower Have used the mower for about 2 months, everything works fine. If I have any criticisms it would be the the seat is hot and the port for changing the oil looks very inconvenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Features Bought a month or so ago. So far so good. Haven't removed/sharpened blade yet. May be a little tough to lift mower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Foot pedal controls Since I bought this machine, it has been in the shop for warranty work twice for the same steering issue. I like the concept and engine, but have not really had a chance for it to work for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this end of July ,not having anything else in stock. Am not happy with it at all, I have 46 zero turn cub cadet is amazing , this one is lik e tinker toy to me. Not very stable on uneven surfaces , you have to lean with your body weight so you don’t tip over.Real pain to have to push the handle to shift blades on and off. I really wish I did not purchase this item, gonna try to trade in next year when there is some stock to chose from, but I’m sure I’m going to take a big hit on money I paid for this .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what I want Have had this mower now since middle of July 2020 and it has done what I have wanted from it so far. Two main reasons for picking this style cub was the size and the Hydrostatic Transmission. The mower fit between my trees and the fence nicely in the backyard when cutting, drives through both my gates on either side of my house (10' and 4' gates) and easily stores in my shed. The cut is fine and the mower is easy to clean when lawns are finished. It does take less time then pushing my other cub mower (which is still used for a backup). As with all mowers, there are a few drawbacks, the seat is smooth and slippery like the old vinyl seated cars, the foot areas are also slippery. Both drawbacks can be cured easily with a cloth seat cover and some bathtub non slip strips. Doesn't have good wheel grip in soft sandy areas (my yard). Two problems I have come across so far are that the rack and pinon steering will jump a tooth if you turn to quickly (places the steering wheel off center). Also the Hydrostatic tranny tends to slip when starting forward or reverse movement. Had the dealership look into this, they couldn't duplicate the problem. Found if I play with the pedal it will engage, shouldn't have to do that. Will keep an eye on it.... Overall, if your looking for a small mower that gets the job done, this one will work, not fast, but steady. Will update this review later if needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from One year and trouble Bought this mower last year. Love the way it cuts so I give it 2 stars. Unfortunately the 2 rear wheels locked up and will not turn forward or backward. Scooted it in to the garage and parked it. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A joke of a mower I bought this mower a few months ago, and I now have to go buy another brand just to get my lawn to look respectable. It just mats the grass down in most places and does not cut it. I have to mow twice, and it still looks terrible. I know all about overlapping and such, so its not that. I used to have such a nice lawn, now it's just embarrassing to have people over. I really felt like I got taken by buying this mower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent mower! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a Different riding lawn tractor, and found out it was WAY to big and heavy machine for my yard. I sold it and went searching for a smaller more maneuverable rider. I found the Cub cadet 30H, and the rest is history. It’s light, maneuverable and cuts my yard fantastic. My yard is hilly, and rough. This rider is fantastic. I went with Cub Cadet, because I own a Cub cadet snowblower that is also fantastic…keep up the great work of putting out great products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for medium sized yard [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the cc 30h about a month ago and it is the perfect mower for my medium size yard. Does a beautiful job and cut my mowing time in half. It was very hard to find this particular model however. I’m guessing it is partly because this side mower is great for your medium size “subdivision “ yards and partly due to the supply and demand problem that exists right now. I was able to find one at a dealer about an hour away though and I’m very pleased with the mower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for someone 5'6" Bought this thing in March after reading 50 reviews an d watching every video on it. I was sure I bought the perfect mower for my 1/3 acre. I was wrong! I have used it twice and already spent $60.00 on getting two tires fixed that kept losing air from the day I bought it. No apparent damage to either tire except pinhole leaks in the tread?? Called CC and was on hold for over an hour on three (3) occasions and never did get to talk to anyone and the website is just as useless. I think this would be a good mower for a short person, with zero hills or inclines, as I almost tip it over when trying to negotiate the slightest of inclines, as I am 6'2". The mulching is awful and the bagger plugs up constantly. This is my 15th mower and the worst one I have ever bought. I am sure I will get used to it, but, I am not happy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product has major design flaw There is a major design flaw with the bagger for this this CC30 machine. I just attached the bagger and used it for the first time. I was 4 passes into mowing it caused major property damage to a fence on my property. For some reason, there is a steel j-hook that holds down the bagging shield. That j-hook extends out from the backside of the bagger. As I backed the machine up to start another mowing path, I looked back as I backed up to make sure the bagger did not hit my chain link fence. It did not. What I did not see is that j-hook had latched on to the fence. When I pulled away, it ripped a gaping hole in the fence. Also - the chute on the bagger is not good. I had to unscrew it 4 times while using it to clear it out because the grass was getting stuck in the chute and was not making it to the bag. This design had to be the worst of all the final ideas on how to keep the shield down on the bagger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought I have had this mower for a month and a half now and love it. The time it saves is worth the money to me. It is comfortable, easy to drive, and does a wonderful job on the grass. If there is one thing I would change I would add a floating deck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great CC 30 H Cutting Mower and Operation I bought this machine in July 2020 have used it three times thus far and cuts the grass really fine turns real tight. Operation is very easy with the electric starting and Hydrostatic transmission operation is smooth. Had to get use to switching the start key to the position for forward and reverse directions. The mulching attachment really chops up the grass so really no clippings left behind. The 3 year warranty also for 120 hours seems like it should cover any problems if it occurs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed to Satisfied The first time I used my mower I was very disappointed in the way it cut!!! After adjusting the mowing decks forward and lateral blade height (per the manual), I went from disappointed to satisfied. Before I made the adjustment, I had to mow my yard twice and even then it looked really bad. The manual calls for a 0” to a 1/4” forward tilt. Mine was set close to 3/4” forward before I made the adjustment. Mine is going 2 months old without any mechanical issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed It doesn't cut well. I need to go back over the same area. I ordered the bag system and it collects nothing. The store where I bought the tractor and bag system, told me I need to lift the blade to #4. That it will not work any lower. Then they said the blade needs to be sharpened. The tractor itself, sounds like a hunk of junk. Totally disappointed in this product. I also have seen other reviews with the same complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower for the price but with some caveats I've had this mower for a couple months and really like how it handles and cuts. My only complaint right now is the oil drain. I attempted to change the oil after the first five hours of operation and totally lost control. The oil poured out onto my driveway while I invented a few new expletives. I installed one of those oil spigots and getting good access to be able to tighten it up was difficult due to the location on the side of the engine. The oil fill is also a problem as it is at an angle and a funnel will not stay put. When you pour in the new oil, it flows very slowly into the crankcase so you are likely to spill a bit on your first try. It's always the maintenance items that are a problem but many folks don't do it themselves. Great mower. I would have been willing to spend a few more dollars if the above items were better taken care of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy so far! I am very happy with my mower with one exception. The deck wash feature. The spray fitting gets clogged and water sprays all over the top of the deck. I removed the attachment to unclog the spray nozzle and I am unable to reattach the fitting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good mower I bought this in 2018. It starts every time. The turning radius is very large. Maintenance is difficult. The manual is very vague as to how to remove the blade. You Tube information is nonexistent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little mower! I bought the CC30H to replace a larger lawn tractor that was 16 years old. I'm completely satisfied with this mower. My old tractor was a 42" cut, but I can actually cut my yard in less time because this mower is so much more maneuverable! Also I had to use a smaller walk behind mower in tight spots, too small for the tractor. Now I don't even use the walk mower, it's in storage! This little Cub does it all..
