Buying online
Applied and got a cub credit card to buy this mower then found out it can only be used online on Cubs site. The site wouldn’t ship or give me the option to pick up at my local dealer ( even after talking to CS telling them the dealer has 3+ on-site). Ended up having to apply for the local dealer financing. Should have skipped everything about the online stuff and life would have been better. Instead I wasted a week trying to work with them.

Good machine customer service is a nightmare
Purchased with the intent that the armrest would fit, beating many competitors overall. Armrest did not fit the mower even though the website said it would. Through investigation found out this problem has been around for a while contacted customer service and they were unwilling to help even though I showed them the proof. Received a call from one representative where she stated that it was my problem that the website Was not correct. Also had a crossroad bolt on the seat when I was inspecting they told me that was how it was supposed to be in functioning as it should. Confirm they were incorrect at a big box store. They told me they’re not gonna do anything that was how it was made to work.

Don't buy online!!!
If you buy online they have a dealer bring mower that's been sitting around with dead birds in it and chipped paint and rust!

Doesn't cut grass
Worse mower I ever purchased. Looks good but doesn't cut grass. Even when going really slow. I am just cutting grass and the blades won't stay sharp. Blades don't overlap, leaves an uncut strip every pass. I have paid way less for better mowers. I would use a lot of gas because I would have to cut it twice.

Grass Build Up!
I bought this mower 1 month ago. This is not my first Z mower. Comfort is there. Hydrolics not equal. Grass build up around pulleys and belts is horrible. I am unable to dislodge grass build up with a hose or blower! I have to remove the foot plate and wash and pull it out! Terrible design and over time will corrode the deck pulleys and spindles, stretch the belt or cause it to pop off or even break.

Transmission went out
I’ve had the mower for a couple years and have done all the correct maintenance and at only 2 years old the right hydro gear box has went out and there about 1000 dollars to get replaced I’ve only owned cub cadet for about 9 years now but have got to say I was very unhappy at this mower I had to change spindles as well which isn’t that big of a deal but that was when the mower was only a year old.

The ZT1 is even better than I expected. Then why the two-stars? Customer Service.
Can't get a-n-y-o-n-e to answer a simple question. They won't return phone calls or return emails. That is beyond very disappointing.

Good lots of grass
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mower is working well. It has a lot of adjustments for height but I like it long so I only use 4.5. The only negative is the grass collects on the deck and gets clumped around the pulleys. Have to blow it off every time and it’s definitely a job.

ZT1 Works Great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mower arrived in a timely manner to my house. The initial setup on the mower was easy. I added gas and it started right up. The ZT1 54” worked great on my yard, and so far have no complaints.

Guard removes paint and metal from mowing deck.
Thing that is bad is the guard on the mowing deck literally rubs down to bear metal and looks like it rubs into the metal. Very bad design.

A true grit product
I have never had a riding mower before. So I did my research and based on the product reviews and demos I found, I thought it the best product for my property and value. However, the comfort and maneuverability have transform a shore into a yard therapy session. I can spend 3 hours on my yard doing trim work and not feel it. I started helping my father in law with his 17ac property and thinking I should have gone with their ZT2 series but I will save that for my next review.

Still in the honeymoon phase
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first zero turn. After 2 hours I was comfortable. Great machine. I do have decent slope so there are areas I slide, but I’m getting to know my land. We are here only 1 month now. I wish the run hours was standard. Now I’m guessing on maintenance. I also should have bought the clippings collector with the unit, but I don’t think that was offered a factory/dealer thing ?? I’m still in the honeymoon phase.

Fun to ride
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking at this brand of mower for a couple of years, finally my 14 year old mower died. I looked at different models of Cub Cadet and decided this model was the best for my needs. Love the adjustable lapbar drive handles to fit my slightly larger waist line, I also like how smooth they function which makes the driving smother, little-to-no tire skid marks in the grass when turning, also love the fact that the lapbar handles when in the locked position act as a means of support for me when I step on and off the mower, very sturdy, (helps when your a little older). The 24hp motor is strong enough to meet whatever I need it to do. I like the removable floor pan to access the deck, belts and ease of cleaning this area. Besides being very fun to drive, it just looks good.

Grass Builds up BAD!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower a month ago and it mows good. Problem is that grass build up Horribly on the deck. Takes a lot of work to clean out EVERY TIME I MOW. I have the Mulching kit installed. I have not tried mowing without it. I mow the grass when dry never wet. Disappointed! See Pictures:

Better than my Kubota
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have owned a Kubota zero turn for many years, and it keeps breaking down on me and doesn't climb inclines very well. I live on 8 acres, but only mow about 3 acres with my lawnmower. My new Cub Cadet is fast, cuts really well, is easy to operate, is comfortable, and does very well on inclines. I am very happy with my purchase.

Great mower, cheap blades
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower this year when my old Cub Cadet lawn tractor went on the blitz. I like everything about this mower except for the blades. Mowed my lawn 4 times and the blades were so damaged that the whole deck was vibrating with them off balance. I then found out that you can only use Cub Cadet blades on their new mowers, other brands will not fit.

Glad I bought it.. ZT1 54
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty solid choice to maintain a couple of acres to "tame" fence lines and grass around the house. Handles minor central Virginia hills fine, handled grass up to 12-16 inches reasonably well, small rocks, branches have not been a problem. Fills in gaps that are too awkward to maneuver my bush hog for keeping the grass beat back once or twice a month...

Great 1st zero turn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new ZT1-54. Thanks so much to my local Cub Cadet dealer for delivering it right to my house and showing me how it works.
Speed and power is excellent. Deck has zero vibration. My lawn is just shy of 2 acres with moderate hills, and it makes quick work. Thanks Cub Cadet for offerimg an excellent zero turn at a modest price.

Drive belt and Oil filter issues
I bought this mower just about three years ago. I had to replace the main drive belt twice in three years. Now today 4\23\2023 my oil filter blew off and locked up the engine while I was mowing my yard.

Solid Mower but...
Seems like a solid mower. It's pretty lame though that they spent 50 cents putting in a "deck wash capable" plate and screw on the mower when they could have spent a $1.50 putting the deck wash adapter on instead. My 5-year-old $1,700 John Deere riding mower had the adapter but my new $3,700 CC mower doesn't? What else did they nickel-and-dime me on...?
