Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a BEAST My biggest complaint is their is NO hour meter that comes on it, you have to spend another $50 and put it on yourself which is not hard just a hassle, it would have been better just to increase the price $50 and have it come standard on it. When I first used the mower it was very loud and had a lot of vibration, I'm hoping over time it will quite down some with less vibration. Other than these two things I would have given it a 5 star. Overall I'm pleased with the mower so far I have only mowed with it once, you can't go wrong with the Kawasaki engine.....I really wished it was offered on the ZT1 42 inch mower!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware I bought a ZT1 50 with a fabricated deck in May of 2019. Put around 20 hours on it in 2019 before storing it for the winter. When I went to put it into service in the spring of 2020 the entire electrical system failed and Cub Cadet service center spent 8 weeks trying to fix it. They had to rewire the whole machine and didn't know why. It worked for the rest of the 2020 season. April 2021 I went to put it into service and it would not run, electrical issue again. Cub Cadet service center picked it up and had it for 1.5 weeks. This time the ignition switch failed with 44 hours on the machine. I talked with Cub Cadet help desk and asked if they would offer extended warranty on electrical system due to these issues. They will not. I think I have a lemon and not willing to risk these failures once the warranty is up next year. Time to list the mower on Craigslist!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZT1-50 review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After ordering issues and a lengthy delivery wait I finally got my ZT1-50. Easy to assemble. My first impression was that it was pretty quiet and very smooth. No vibration to speak of which was a concern based on certain videos I had seen. No issues there. Mowed great!! Even cut! There is a bit of a learning curve as I’m transitioning from a Caddt front engine. It’s easy to run the rear wheels into stuff especially going around corners. I opted for the fender kit which installed easily and will keep wheel spray at bay. So far, very happy with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet ride [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome ride! Easy to use. Easy access to the motor for oil changes and maintenance. Plus a perfect cup holder for my beer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purchased 7/16/2020 I purchased this ZT1 50" all most 2 years ago and it has a few issues. The first one is the steering pump on the right side has a tendency to freeze up at random times and I have to pull back on the handle to get it to go forward. Second the hydraulic steering pumps whine bad at times and sounds like they need more fluid or something. Lastly, the vibration on the drive pully has gotten pretty bad, I'm expecting it to give out at any time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from How am I supposed to maintain this machine? So I bought my new mower, read the manuals, filled it with gas, checked the oil and started it up and began mowing. While I’m mowing I start to wonder how much gas I have used. Nope no fuel gauge. After I get done I’m wonder how many hrs I mowed so I can change the break- in oil. Nope no hour meter… seriously how am I supposed to maintain this mower? Pretty disappointed. Wish I would have bought something different now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Cut Quality I have had this mower for over a year now and every time I mow with this mower the grass is never cut evenly. Not the right and left side of the deck there is always grass left uncut. Even with sharpen blades the grass still gets missed!! This mower needs serious attention to cut quality!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's OK, def not great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's not a bad mower if you have a perfect flat piece of land that doesn't have any obstructions. I dont, so it just doesn't cut it for my needs. The deck lost its grass chute and the metal around the opening broke. The "S" spindles make blade choices super limited, and the blades available aren't that great. Switch to solid front tires asap cuz the factory tires puncture easily. My rear tires have patches on a few spots too. You dont get much mowing speed from this mower, so if you have a large lot it's going to take a while. Overall I'd save my money and get a much higher end mower if you have challenging land or a large piece of land.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What?? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this mower so much, but why make an awesome machine like this and not put an hour meter. Come on Cub Cadet, you took the hour meter away which is a must for a mower like this. Now I have to find one and figure out how to install it without it looking goofy. Not the right way to save a buck. Other than no hour meter (minus 1 star), this machine is smooth, and accurate, the cut is beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a lawn mower... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, there is a trailer under all of that...somewhere. :) First project to clear low hanging limbs on new property...done. Cub Cadet - ZT1 is not just a mower, able to handle towing large loads with ease. Mower also works great, handled our overgrown wet grass with little to no bogging down. Would be nice to have some kind of gas gauge. The bars are a little close to the rider for me being a large rider making reverse a little work. Having the cutter blow more to the back would also be nice instead of at the side as I was constantly getting showered with grass cuttings when that side of the mower was facing the wind. Just some nice to have improved items, nothing wrong/bad with the unit. Very well done otherwise so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk!!!! Bought this mower new in April 2020, only put about 16 hours on it for the season before storing for winter in heated garage and connected to a battery tender. Had a new garage built for equipment storage and moved mower to it in March of 2021, went to pull it out a few weeks later for first use and it's completely dead, battery is charged, lights work, no starter. Replaced solenoid and still nothing, irritated and needing to get yard cut I jumped the solenoid to check starter and everything ran. Shut it off, used key to start and everything seemed fine. Hate problems that "fix themselves" because its not really fixed, sure enough, September of 2021 with 21 hours on the meter it's dead again, jumpering the solenoid does spool up the starter but engine will not catch so assuming fuel pump is also dead or entire electrical system has died like other reviewers. I'm over it, I'll send this trash in for service and hopefully offload it to the dealer. Last Cub Cadet I'll ever purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No hour meter No hour meter I was thinking about buying a cub cadet ZT 150 and cut But there is no meter to keep up with your maintenance work why should I have to buy a meter for that when I get my Husqvarna with it already equipped I think if you buy $3200 for a mower they should at least put an hourmeter on it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mow money can buy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this machine now 4 times. Switching from a lawn tractor to a zero turn took a little getting used to but surprisingly it was faster than I expected. I cut close to 2 acres and by the time I was done with the first cut I was getting the hang of it. After 4 times now I feel like a pro. I can't say enough about how great it handles. the cut is amazing and the height selection on the deck can't be beat. I have a somewhat bumpy yard and this machine handles it at top speed and keeps the cut consistent. What used to take 2 or more hours can be done in 40 minutes. If you are on the fence and buying one of these like we were make the leap you won't regret it. The only problem I have with this machine is that I didn't buy it several years ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Massively Disappointed in Cut Quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower last year when my old, used but well-maintained Poulan Pro riding mower lost compression mid-mow. Haven't been able to complete the yard in a single pass yet with this mower. It had standard blades at first, then I switched to the extreme mulching kit when I did the break-in oil change. I'm very mechanically inclined and double-checked everything was installed correctly. A rep told me the blade come pre-sharpened so I didn't sharpen them prior to install. It mows, but it leaves half-cut strips between the blades. I have to crawl at about 1 MPH or less and even then I usually have to overlap by a full half, and even then still usually have to go over it all again to get it even. It's an expensive task with gas prices being what they are (ethanol-free too). I only have 1/3 of an acre to mow and will use 3/4 of a tank of gas each mow, which is every 10-14 days, same as always. The one time (this spring) that I mowed after only 7 days, no difference. Supremely dissatisfied with the performance of this "Top Rated" machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic mower!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love love love this mower so far!! I researched several before deciding on this one, and I couldn't be happier. First of all it just looks sharp, which is cool! But obviously more important than that, it's incredibly user friendly. This is the first zero turn mower I've ever owned, and I picked up the operation very quickly. It is so responsive and precise, you can delicately mow around objects you're wanting to be careful with. And then it also can rip through open spaces in no time! I would highly recommend this mower!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly Good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this mower for a little over a year and echo some of the other comments. I upgraded to the Xtreme mulch kit and had it put on by a cub cadet dealer and still get very obvious missed streaks when I cut my lawn at any speed, regardless of height. It requires a half overlap which doubles the mow time. Very disappointing after spending $3500 On the plus side the seat is very comfortable as are the molded handles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a great mower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As with a lot of the other reivews, I love this mower however scratch my head as to why they do not include a deck wash and a hour meter. Both are easily added by the owner for less than $100 for both items and 30 minutes of your time to install them. Cannot understand why these are not included with the mower on purchase. Other than that, the mower cuts great. It is my 1st zero turn mower, did not take long for me to get comfortable with driving it. For me, I appreciate the ability to adjust the control levers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable yet highly reliable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got a ZT1 50" from a local dealer. They did the PDI or whatever it's called and delivered to our doorstep. It does great on small grades, big open areas, leaves, weeds, whatever you throw at it. The engine purrs at high or low speed and the deck engages quickly the the PTO. Wasn't sure about all the fuss with the shaking other people have seen. Personally I feel that it isn't all that much of a big deal. It does vibrate slightly when initializing. The main problem I have is that the lap bars do not stay aligned. I noticed this when both lap bards are engaged at full forward and observed that the mower tends to drive to the left a bit instead of straight line. Seems like there is a misalignment somewhere but overall not a deal breaker. I would buy another if I needed one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZT1 50 Buyer Review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously, If you're in the market for a rider mower look no further. I purchased the ZT1 50 for my 1.5 acre yard and it performed better than expected. Like a high end haircut. I am very pleased with my decision after reading many reviews from many other brands. You wont be disappointed. Steve Raub

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Owned for 1 year time for a review. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impressions no fuel gauge, no hour meter, cup holder is situated to far back. The real question does is does it mow well? Not so much.. it streaks in between blades unless you mow extremely slow. Changed factory blades out (which are paper thin) for mulching blades. Mulching blades are slightly better but still have to mow way too slow. Deck speed, air movement seems off. Does not hold even small hills well. Overall not a great experience. I wish they were like cars so I could trade this one in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZT1 50 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great purchase! Quality of cut is excellent. Cuts 2 1/2 acres in half the time it took my 42” tractor mower to do the job. Very pleased!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive parts and keep breaking I don't write reviews, but this is ridiculous. When the this model is running, it runs pretty good. However, I only mow 5 acres of grass. Nothing else. I have had to replace the blades every year because they break. THey cost over $100 each set and since it is a special S Shaped spindle, you can't just buy the blades any where else. Then if a spindle goes bad, like mine just did. You have to pay $100 plus for each spindle. When other companys you can buy a full set of 3 for less than 1. I have only had mine for 2.5 years and nothing has been approved as warranty. I would not recommended this brand to anyone. Save a bit more money and buy a higher quality rider, where replacement parts are way easier and way cheaper to come buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mower. Bought the ZT 50 and went straight home and mowed the yard. It mows good and seems to have plenty of power. Only 4 stars due to not being able to put armrest on it. They show them as an accessory but they took the mounting bracket off the seat so you can't put armrest on even though they list them for this machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zt150 tires/ tracks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently bought my zero turn zt150 about 35 days ago. I was trying to find out if there is a track conversion kit for them or a airless tire. I have had 4 flat tires since I bought my zero turn. It's really frustrating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from so far so good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The zero turn cut my mowing time in half. the deck leaves a nice even cut. my only complaint so far is: when i turn the pto on, the mower just about dies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cutting Corners [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just purchased a ZT1 50. Thought it was love at 1st sight but can’t get over the fact that this mower does not come with an hour meter. This is not acceptable for a few reasons, how can you prove hour usage if a warranty issue should arise? Also decreases resale value if you can’t provide accurate usage records. Finally, when mower was delivered and I was informed there was no spare key included. Come on Club Cadet, you can do better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Warranty, Engine and Comfort. BUT... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last mower I had the same Kawasaki 23HP and it was bulletproof. Great mower but NO HOUR METER???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zt1 50 is an amazing machine! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An amazing machine that is built to effectively do its job and be serviced and upgraded with ease. Oil changes and blade sharpening are so simple to execute and this machine has halved my cut time verses my old mower. My only gripe is i have to buy the hour meter separately as my cousins older year version came with it.
